You mean, like if you really really "need" a library card from the UN, and, and........Oh, never mind.
Had a long discussion (bruising) with the wife about the mental health status of every witness we know; my opinion is that we all have a degree of dysfunction due to accepting numerous double binds, dilemmas, impossibilities, etc about doctrine.
This is one instance; they talk about "we" can remain faithful; they mean YOU. They do not have to. They can have criminal sexual abuse policies, and in the same breath condemn the priest sex scandal. They talk in this case about being faithful in all circumstances, but will not allow any discussion of the disgusting breach of faith and their own doctrine they committed when they signed on as an NGO.
We were continually taught that God used his slave as a "channel of communication", but balked at the idea that God spoke through any humans today!
We intoned about the loving elder arrangement, only to hit hard rock reality when sitting in a JC meeting, or had an elder lie through his teeth about his actions.
We are all NUTS.
