The innocent civilians being attacked is the norm of the day. Attacking hospitals too are happening frequently. Now schools being attacked is becoming a regular affair (last of its kind massacred 150 children in Peshawar on December 16, 2014).

In response, female teachers are going to teach the students with machine guns in their hands!

Bad as that situation is I have to say yes, the world can get worse. You can have a nuclear war; you can have the entire world turn into Somalia.

Abiather...It seems to me your focus on these atrocities is to prove a point. Unfortunately your ' point ' ie that human behaviour in the present is getting worse cannot be based on cherry picking .

If on the other hand if you must cherry pick, why not seek and find joy in the multitude of positive and good that is achieved for humankind. Perhaps you could post some of your findings in the ' positive ' category?

However, in my case, I have not experienced goodness and beauty from anywhere except from the invisible hand of God. I have helped many people—including my family members. It is ok if they do not show gratitude. But they enjoy doing harm to me. Hence I am not trying to prove anything. I just wrote what I am observing and experiencing.

Abiather, have you considered that God came to you dressed in beautiful clothes? It is called imagination. When imagination is held collectively there is good reason to reinforce that beauty even though its origin is just a phantom of the mind.

there are~ 100 million elementary schools in the world , plus middle, high, colleges, Unis, with perhaps~ a billion pupils. You need a magnifying glass focussed* to find the nuts that disrupt this remarkable learning surge. *the media that cater to the sensation-hungry viewers.

I am glad my children go to school now, and not when I was, 70+ years ago in Europe.

Cherry picking atrocities is all Abiather, the Dark Lords and the other End-of-Timers can do these days to keep the rank and file rank. And filed. The evidence that the world is improving is overwhelming. Focusing on the anomalies and the abhorrent is the only strategy they have.

It's similar to focusing on incidents such as Sandy Hook Elementary as being a sign of the end while ignoring the fact that crime of nearly every type has been steadily decreasing for decades.

Your question does have a ' leaning 'in that it implies world conditions are getting worse,it therefore follows by implication that it is posed to prove your premise.

Have you considered that ugliness may have benefited positively by the clothes of beauty.perhaps that's why the ugly clothing was discarded. There is always a benefit in seeking the good and assisting its progressive benefits individually and for others.
