There's one consloation about being an invalid - I get to (have to) watch television. Isn't it awful?
Anyway, Mrs Ozzie and I settled back to watching the Euro Song Contest which is in its 50th year. I remember when it was much smaller, much more innocent - remember Abba and Waterloo?
For us the best part was the voiceover from the Irish commentator - did you hear it in Europe? He was simply outrageously humorous. Brilliant!
Anyway, for what it's worth (not much, I suspect - too political these days) here's the news report on the "winners". Hmm

They had watched the contest on a giant screen late Saturday in front of the Zappeion palace, and went wild when the Greek victory was announced.
Brandishing Greek flags, they danced and embraced to the beat of the winning song "My Number One" written by Christos Dantis and including elements of a traditional Greek dance.
"Many congratulations to Helena," said Athens Mayor Dora Bakoyannis, who was on the scene. "It's a unique moment that we deserve ... Athens is ready to welcome Eurovision in 2006."
Clad in a short golden dress, Paparizou, who was born and raised in Sweden, gave an energetic performance. The fiery redhead, who was elected by television viewers from 39 countries, won with 230 points..
