Are you musical at all Leolaia? I've read that a few famous composers and musicians years ago may have had synesthesia due to their striving, in their own words, to make the music sound more blue or more yellow.

You're lucky you don't have the synesthesia where you taste words Apparently words don't have the obvious taste sensation associated with them, so the word bananas could taste like smelly socks.

Isn't it strange how we "normal" people label people with autism etc as having a disability?? sounds more like an incredible ability to me. froglett

Leolaia - on an episode of "QI" there was a question about Synesthesia, and the example used was of someone (forgotten who, someone famous and dead) who thought that the lights are turned down at concerts to make it easier to see the colours! That's just so amazing. I think of days as different colours (As Alan did on the programme), but I just think it's because of the "Radio Times"!

    Leo,

No I didn't watch the show afterwards but I think I've seen it before - the woman nearly died didn't she with that massive tumour

Fascinating programme. He did calculate pie and spent five hours giving each digit - thats over 22000 digits in sequence. Amazing! Then he learned to speak Icelandic in 7 days!
