I used to hate when they made this statement in view of how bad a lot of things were. It occurred to me that they said this because they want us to get used to the fact that everything is crappy and we are ungrateful or something and we just have to change our brain and see it differently.
Kind of like the story about the emperor and his new clothes.

Jesus was a fool! He was no better than a 1st century david koresh! He was a flipping carpender who died from a case of terminal "couldn't shut the F*CK up when he needed too!" No miracles no savior he didn't die for you he's not coming back for you he's dead and dust give it up!
Neither is allah or muhamad or jehovah or god or buddah or vishnue or zeus or thor or baal or satan or elvis or santa or the easter bunny or captain kirk! Or any other made up dude get over it!... (well elvis wasnt' made up but he is dead!)

Anyone can be in a spiritual paradise of their own making.
Simply claim to be special, claim to know the truths about the mysteries of the universe, claim to be better than everyone else, claim to be happy....and keep repeating that until you convince yourself. Viola. Paradise.

JWs are not even close to half-way to a spiritual paradise based on Bible knowledge, if that's what you mean, Honesty!
Anyone can be in a spiritual paradise of their own making.
I agree with that, but it has nothing to do with this, in my opinion:
Simply claim to be special, claim to know the truths about the mysteries of the universe, claim to be better than everyone else, claim to be happy....and keep repeating that until you convince yourself. Viola. Paradise.
To me, true paradise is knowing that one is NOT special, but rather that we are all interconnected and thus each have inherent value that has nothing to do with whatever religion (or lack thereof) to which one ascribes. If this has to be related to Jesus, remember that he said that the kingdom could be found in each one of us. Start trusting that (Witnesses pooh-pooh the concept) and see if present life seems more peaceful and happy for you. outnfree -

Compared to where they are heading if they don't accept Jesus as their personal savior instead of the WT organisation. Any comments?
It appears you've traded one delusion for another. Feel better?

Honesty, I do believe you and I are on the same wavelength here. It dawned on me some time ago that the Organization had substituted itself for Jesus as the mediator between God and JWs. Although I am an active JW I cannot accept the WTS and the Governing Body as a substitute channel of communication between God and myself. When my sins are forgiven, I know it is because of the shed blood of Jesus and not due to some organizational decision made by misled men.

This is based purely on the assumption that Jesus existed.
