Matriachial Societies are they better than Patricahial?

  Matriarchal are women ruled. Whats being described is matrilinear. Yes, it is more to be desired. Matrilinear societies were common at one time, there is archeological data to support that these people were agricultural based, that in their lives the arts were very important, that all people in the village put their goods into a communal pot and then each took out according to their need. There were no walls around their cities because war was not something they practiced or condoned.

  And then the patriarchal tribes came, killed all but the good looking women, and took them off to teach them the "better" way.

  I'm not just saying this, there is a LOT of evidence that supports this "When God Was a Woman", also "The Chalice and the Blade" are two sources of information, however there are lots of others.

  So, even though this type of society lived in peace, was self sufficient, did not know poverty, had a high respect for the arts, look what we have now, isn't that better?

  Thanks for the post, yes I know Matrilinear is more correct, much more, it is just easier to spell(LOL), and I thought useing the more familiar term even though inaccurate would stimulate more discussion. I concider you a person that has done some home work on this issue, and so look foreward to what ever you post.

  I think the agressive nature of men as opposed to women who are (not as a rule but generally) not as agressive, I'm sure you may know some visa versa. So I think the male part of the species, has been the inventer weapons to kill game and other males and women may have been the inventers of knitting, decorating, and many things having to do with children. And so that's why I think what you say is correct.But this is all speculation because I don't think we really know what women's personality was like say 10,000 or more years ago. There may have been isolated populations where women an the issues of control where far different in a multipicity of ways, and then finally they get intigrated into the whole mass somehow.
