I work in healthcare and exposed to private information and have come across sensitive information of different patients and some were active JWs who have had multiple sex partners while active and unmarried, etc.; however I never disclosed any information to anybody else including elders back when I was active. At that time I just came to the conclusion that nothing ever stays hidden and eventually things will be found out, just not by me. Also the medical record or charts of patients do not elaborate specific details about everything and circumstances.

What if Mary had discovered that the ten stooges in Brooklyn had made a secret pact to join the United Nations as an NGO! Should she disclose this to.......everyone?

I work in health care also and have come across a couple of incidents...one involved an old witness guy who had a blood disease that required a transfusion every so often as part of his medical tuneup. I was curious about the number of witness people who came to see him on his admission day as he was from a small town many miles from our hospital. They were apparently there to cheer him on in his refusal to have a transfusion. I overheard several of them giving him the ole dub song and dance about his bravery in keeping his integrity yadayada. As soon as visiting hours were over, his doctor poked his head into the nursing station gave us all the high sign, asked if the coast was clear in soandso's room and told this patient's nurse to have the unit of packed cells sent up ASAP. I asked the doctor about jw man and told him I thought he had refused the blood. The doctor just laughed."We go throgh this farce everytime Mr.X comes in for treatments...he refuses in front of his family and all the JWs they send over from the church then as soon as they are gone for the night we give him his transfusion. It's been going on for a couple of years." later I saw this man lying in bed with the blood dripping away while he watched TV. He didn't know I had been a dub and there was no way in hell I would have told anyone in the cult about this incident anyway even if I'd been an active member of the local hall! I've always been of the opinion that these things were between God and the person. I'm appalled that they believe their power to be so sacred that people have to report this stuff to them. I hope anyone this ever happens to will sue the snitch and the hospital involved because it's a crime to violate privacy laws.

See, thats a very reasonable approach. What ever happened to "waiting on Jehovah?"

I have the perfect solution to this problem of dubs who cannot keep a confidence and who make themselves a liability to their employers:

The doctors and other professionals should simply sue the religious organization(s) in question who are demanding that their adherents violate a confidence.

This would probably put a stop to it.

If only that were possible. Instead, our government holds people responsible for their own actions.

The JWs I have know in healthcare would never reveal, not because of the JW involved, but because they aren't ready to lose their job over it.

Awhile back, I posted a court case where a JW woman lost her job because of revealing confidential health info and the appeal was uphead too.

    I'll try and find it.

Believe, no JWs I know are ready to put their jobs on the line.
