I remember being in 7th grade and people hating to be on the debate club with me on the marijuana club.

The only reason I could have "upped" them was because I was a witness who was trained to "banter" (yeah right, it was called badgering).

I had a brother who was a scientist (who btw, sexually abused me) teach me a lot of what was taught about marijuana at the time.

I blew the others out of the water.

As much as I detested the ministry school, I did manage to bring away sme tips on speaking to others (like the school board) in certain situations. Field Service gave me the ability to go one to one or with several people to discuss things, as in going into the advocacy area.

From originally being a very shy person, I did learn to speak in public - courtesy of the Ministry School.

However, when you take everything into consideration, it was a VERY expensive course in Public Speaking!

The JW experience taught me to be disciplined, courteous, friendly, somewhat outgoing, to analyze my behavior prior to carrying it out and see how it will affect others, not to trust or follow my heart because it changes very often. Taught me to be studious, and keep good schedules.

Then again, I don't know if this is good or not in this day and age, but the JW experience taught me to be a judgemental prude big time!

Because of the JW experience, I met and still keep in contact with some very nice people.
