Don't know what to do...should I appeal? Go on with my life...I've never had to do this before...my former employer told me they wouldn't send back the form but the liars that they are they did. What to do now? Part of me wants to appeal. Part of me wants to go on with my life and just put it behind me.

what do you mean that the employer said they wouldn't send back the form? Even if they did send back the form, unless they said you quit or were fired for 'gross' wrongdoing your unemployment should not have been denied. Did they lie on the form? You should be entitled to a copy of it from the unemployment office and then protest it's content.

    Always fight it!!!

I would appeal it. Leave no stone unturned.

Otherwise it would look like you agree with the ruling.

Is there a legal person who can advise you?

The US is a very litigious society so there are lawyers that specialize in this type of case.

Assuming this is the UK, my understanding is that they send a form to your former employer.

If the reply indicates you left voluntarily, you are inelligable for Unempoyment Benefit for a period of time and are only allowed a lower level of Income Support.

If the reply indicates you were fired for disciplinary reasons, the same applies.

If there is no reply they have to take what you say as fact.

I have a little experience in this from being constructively dismissed years ago, so PM me with details and I will help if I can, or point me at the thread with the details - sorry I've not read it if there is one.

Fight, Appeal it!! Don't make it easy on them!!! All they can do is say NO!

I hope everyone is having a good night. I have thunderstorms, hail, and tornados all around me!!

Maybe I"ll get to go to the land of OZ!!! Maybe I can get a brain..or heart..or find the yellowbrick road!!!!
