They've always been good at dodging questions they can't answer, the GB gives the good example for all to follow they never come out to discuss openly questions with doubters.

They do answer questions from readers but then they can pick and choose and all the awkward ones go in the waste bin.

gringojj ; all was good when you studied what they wanted you to. once you ask the questions. they show thier true colors. they can't answer with out making the wt dogma turn out to be false. so in all honesty they are liars decievers. and false witnesses. you have proven your point whether your wife accepts it or not. i would never let her or the jw's forget , that by thier rotten fruit they are condemned. and can't be trusted to be honest. john

Did you actually think they would answer any question that exposes the WTS' erroneous teachings? The truth is not in them or they would care about the questions you ask rather than fluff them off as apostate reasonings. Once you accept that the WTS will not damage itself even when they are wrong your frustrations with them will cease. Beleive me, mine did.

"They sound like apostate questions" is simply jw for "I can't answer that truthfully without dinging my belief structure - I am shunning it"

It needs be remembered that they have language difficulties which make a formal and structured communication problematic at times. It is this language confusion that they push to conceal.

It involves substitution of meaning for words and terms, whilst simultaneously interacting with another who may or may not have established language (with meaning) for those same terms. Indeed if the non-jw conversee is using an immature language, or suffers from distraction, they may be at risk of taking in the confusive thought. Depending on the degree of their susceptibility, they may even chew it over and/or digest it - at which time an anxietal component of confusion may ensue. Often the attempt to alleviate this is by further acceptance of further conversation - more of the same food.

It's freaky if the unsuspecting is nourished by it first up - but the infinite Is.

My wife makes no secret about it and I openly admit to them that yes I have been reading apostate sites. I have gotten info from them but the questions were mine. I dont think it should make a difference where the info came from just whether its true or not. Apparently to them it does. I just think its lame.

you are correct, the problem is for a jw it does matter and that is why one will always run into a problem when talking to a jw bottomline and this simple fact will never change for the vast majority of jw, once they know or percieve that your question is apostate based, you are dead in the water with most jw you will deal with , the only exception will be jw who are online, now they will talk all day and all night in comparsion to a jw you stop on the street or a jw you know personally like an elder and ask or raise the same issues

I find this very intersting since I have recently also written a list of 30 questions that my wife asked for.She said she would get me the answers;that was about 6 weeks ago and still not one answer. When she did call an elder, about 400 miles away(guess she doesn't trust the locals) he couldn't give her any answers and then told if I didn't have the "truth" in my heart it didn't matter what they gave for an answer.I thought what a crock, what a way to just sidestep the real truth,it's easier to just chop the guy down than to answer the questions!

Anyways I'm not expecting too much.

because they can't. anymore than you or i could answer direct questions from householders when faced with them in the door to door work. also because no one wants to have the finger pointed at them for giving any kind of a definite answer. jw reasoning is nothing more than circular. which means, they will never give a definite answer to anything. after all, only the most high can do that... and just when was the last time you were conviced he/she has done that?????

    What is an apostate question?

I'd be curious to see what your questions were.

30 is quite a few; maybe just the top ten would have been better.

I would always pose my questions as something someone asked me at the door that I researched but still could not answer. A little female submission helps.

Things that have occurred to me

    1. Who was the faithful and discreet slave between 100 and 1879 AD?

    2. If Jesus is not our mediator, how can the other sheep pray through Jesus?

    w02 4/15 p. 31 Questions From Readers ***

The Bible shows that Christians desiring to approach Jehovah in prayer ought to do so in Jesus’ name. Jesus told his disciples: "No one comes to the Father except through me." He added: "Whatever it is that you ask in my name, I will do this, in order that the Father may be glorified in connection with the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it."—John 14:6, 13, 14.

Referring to Jesus’ unique position, the Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological, and Ecclesiastical Literature says: "The object of prayer is God alone, through Jesus Christ as the Mediator. All supplications, therefore, to saints or angels are not only useless, but blasphemous. All worship of the creature, however exalted that creature is, is idolatry, and is strictly prohibited in the sacred law of God."

g74 1/8 p. 10 What Do You Know About Prayer?

Thus, our prayers should acknowledge that the value of the sacrifice of Jesus’ own human life makes it possible for us to approach God in prayer, and that there is just "one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus."—1 Tim. 2:5.

    w66 8/1 p. 465 Baptism Shows Faith ***

Of special interest to one wishing to make his dedication to God is the act of faith known as prayer. When one makes his dedication he prays to Jehovah in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son, the Mediator between God and man.

    3. Why are we called Jehovah's Witnesses when Jesus said we would be witnesses of him in Acts 1:8?

    4. Will only dedicated, baptized Jehovah's Witnesses and their minor children survive Armageddon?

    5. I have been told by the Hospital Liaison Committee that hemoglobin-based products come under the category of blood fractions from red blood cells and choosing them is a conscience matter. How is that possible when they are made out of outdated stored blood? Aren't we supposed to pour out blood, not store it? Does that mean I can store my own blood now for an operation?
