  Among the first steps of cult indoctrination is the severing of ties to family and friends, all of whom will be labeled by the Cult as "bad associaton" and supposedly detrimental to the recruit's
  "growth."

  This action cuts off an important route of disconfirmation and counter-information and facilitates the indoctrination of the person (victim) into the Cult.

  It was reported recently, that since meeting in person, Cruise has not left the side of Holmes and that the two have been "inseparable." This leads one to wonder whether anyone has had the chance to talk with Katie about the turn her life is taking without the influence of those gorgeous blue eyes and dazzling smile hanging over her like the Cheshire cat.

  Those closest to Katie need to intervene now before she gets sucked in any further or Scientology will soon have a new poster celebrity to further its agenda.

  This was on MSNBC this morning:

  One thing Katie has already gone over is Scientology. She was asked if she is a Scientologist and if she had looked into it herself.

  "I have looked into it myself and I really like it and I think it's really wonderful," said Katie.

  Has she tried any auditing?

  "Yeah, yeah," said Katie. "And it's really ... I feel like I'm bettering myself. So it's great."

  Of course, this could also just be a ploy to get people to watch their latest movies, Batman Begins and War of the Worlds.

  I hadn't thought of this angle!

  I do know that several eyebrows have been raised by the antics of Cruise on recent TV appearances. I guess Scientologists don't have any problems with the members dating/marrying those of other faiths, unlike the WTS.

  Katie seems like a very sweet gal...........but then, "old" Tom isn't exactly chopped liver either!

  I think he's....less than intriguing. He looked like a moron on Oprah. Not that I watched Oprah, but I did see clips of his fist-pumping antics and a rather funny bit about it on late night tv.

  I've always admired Cruise's talent (among other things about him ). I've observed him for years and he's really acting kooky lately. I hope that acting like a religious NUT doesn't hurt his acting career.

  As for Katie, someone DOES need to warn her before she gets sucked into the cult-crap-trap. She ought to be encouraged to do her OWN research on this bizness.

  As for the relationship - something about it doesn't sit well with me. Can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's my cult radar.
