I have noticed from reading this board, long before posting, that often people come here thinking this is an active Jehovah's Witness site and not a place for former Jehovah's Witnesses. In so doing, I notice that they often drop bombs to convert what would be active Witnesses and do not realize they are in many cases wasting their time. Might be the case here, if not, it has been the case on other occasions.

catholics have more human blood guilt on their hands than freaking JWs do. but still, catholic or not, it's all a memetic disease.

I think you came on a bit stronger than most first-time posters here. Don't be dissuaded by some of the comment's you'll get.

Most of the people on this board have suffered with the teachings of the JW cult....and have turned from God, which is OK if that works for them. We who have never been JW can't really fathom what years of cult-teachings can do to a person.

Stick around, learn a lot, and write me if you are so inclined.

Actually, now I think about it I was christened a catholic before I happily succumbed to the mormons.

Belief in any religion requires the acceptance of some bonkers stuff but also means that at the end of the day you are required to believe in truth , scientific, moral, social etc.. otherwise your religious beliefs are lies. Where non-believers get excited is when they think they have found a truth (almost always at least debateable) that disproves a religion in its entirety (ie This scripture says 'x' that one says its opposite 'y' ergo both are cr*p or 'science' just discovered a half eaten fossilised big mac which disproves the Exodus (Flame not - I'm joking around!))

As one crazy believer to another I've never found that giving a list of my beliefs was ever a proof or disproof of anyone else's belief system. The list of Catholic beliefs is easily 'refutable' using the bible JUST as my beliefs are - science can be used to support or blow us both away as well.)

I contend that noone is stupid when they join / leave any religion just making decisions based on how they feel and the facts available at the time. I met plenty of Catholics / JWs / atheists who believed as fervently as I do and only when we found common respect did we ever get anywhere.

Let's write lists of common stuff to agree on..

1/ Australia just got whupped (again) by the Brits at cricket.
2/ Chocolate is the greatest food ever made (surely the sign of a loving God ;)
3/ The Battlestar Galactica remake is fairly awesome (even though they left LDS references in!)
4/ JWs hats off for missionary effort - yaboo sucks for split families.
5/ Catholics biggest christian org - saints, not such a great idea (IMHO)
6/ Atheists intellectually unbeatable but so are snowmen :P

I agree that noone is stupid for searching for the truth and finding themselves in religions that provide little if any . I think people are stupid for ignoring the facts and hoping in a lie . You owe it to yourself to weigh the evidence and not take somebody elses word for things that do require personal effort to attain a greater understanding . I also agree that the catholic religion is far more guilty of anti christ behaviour than the WTBTS as they used cruel forms of torture and murdered many for disagreeing , that right there is a fundamental thing to explore when searching for the facts .

It seems we are be bombed to other Christian religions. I guess their worried for our souls. This is the second one I came across the other was the photo from the passion of Christ.

Question is do you feel the love, some how it seems to be missing? Perhaps they don't realize we are ex-jehovah's witnesses. LOL
