Yoda: Premonitions, premonitions. Hmmmm, these visions you have...
Anakin Skywalker: They are of pain, suffering, death...
Yoda: Yourself you speak of, or someone you know?
    Anakin Skywalker: Someone...
    Yoda: …close to you?
    Anakin Skywalker: Yes.
Yoda: Careful you must be when sensing the future, Anakin. The fear of loss is a path to the dark side.
Anakin Skywalker: I won't let these visions come true, Master Yoda.
Yoda: Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them, do not. Miss them, do not. Attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed, that is. Anakin Skywalker: What must I do, Master Yoda?
Yoda: Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose.

I don't like Jedi anymore. They are too much like JWs.

But isnt fear of loss what keeps most 'in' the dark side?

Mourn them, do not. Miss them, do not.

Ya now that is a dubism

I see it as part of the paradoxes of living life:

Letting go of the things we fear, and we gain peace.

Letting go of the things we love and we keep our love even stronger.

If we don't give it away, we cannot keep it.

Becoming powerless to tap into a higher power.

    A way of peace

They are too much like JWs.

    Or maybe Buddhists?

The JWs I see today are driving new cars and cashing in their second mortgages.

At least the JWs are allowed to get married. Jedi can't have sex at all!

I always wondered if any of them opted to get neutered.

So I guess we truly are on the "path to the dark side."

Many people on this board are live in frustration because they see the light about the "troof" but are held captive by relatives and loved ones who are firmly "in." For those in that situation, freedom would come at a very high cost in terms of personal relationships.

The songwriter said, "Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose," and once you get to the point in your life where the dubs no longer hold any power over you, the meaning of the lyric becomes crystal clear.

If the thing you fear most is being "outed" by the congo elders and declared persona non grata to your friends and loved ones, you walk on eggshells all the time. Many of are doing that now, or have just been through the process. But no one can do that indefinitely. Sooner or later you will let go of this fear.

The key is to spend your "fade" time working toward the day when you don't care what they do. That means developing new interests, new friends, and doing some emotional and intellectual recovery work to get past the cult-like indoctrination we've all been under for so long.

That's how you "train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose."
