Comment at the meeting about "family not believing in Jehovah" anymore

  There's one or two in every hall that is always giving comments like this. Gawd I sooo don't miss JW's :)

  And the fact is, the ones who are always making comments like this are the ones who *haven't* moved on, and practically foam at the mouth when speaking of their father-in-law or whoever that left the troof like 25 years ago.

  I definately would have talked to a disfellowshipped family member..and I was as strong a JW as could be!

  I remember one lady that had been disfellowshipped and sat in the back of the hall. I would smile at her but not talked to her at the hall..even though I wanted to. If I would had met her on the street I would have gladly talked to her.

  I wouldn't talk to her at the hall just to keep from making a scene..I didn't know what those idiots were capable of doing. I thought it may ruin HER chance for reinstatement.

  Matter of fact I do remember saying hi to her when she first started coming back..I didn't know much about disfellowshipping..and she told me I wasn't supposed to talk to her as she was disfellowshipped. She was such a sweet person..after she was reinstated..I gave her a big hug. Later she married one of the "Brothers" in the hall and they were very happy until he passed away.He was a very sweet and humble man. Why do the good always die and the meannies live on?

  I hear you jez my father who is an elder and who should show love to everyone want even properly meet my fiance as he is not a brother. What an example my dad shows as a loving person hey. even when i just mention my fiances name he leaves the room, its really pathetic. Its like he is better than my fiance. es

  you shouldn't take them seriously

  I DO take it seriously because this attitude is not 'harmless chitchat'. It is this kind of talk that encourages the shrugging of the shoulders when it comes to family members that are not JWs. "Oh well, their choice, tee hee."

  He was being very serious and I am sure is the type to relish the opportunity to 'prove his loyalty to Jehovah'.

  I feel that the 'dafter' the comment the JW makes, the more it shows that in their head, unconsciously, there is a large amount of turmoil going on about what they have been TOLD to believe and what they really believe.

  Family wreckers that's what they are. Wasn't it Michael Jackson that said: "They don't really care about us"?

  I know what you are saying, Jez. That would have been splendid, had you grabbed him by the throat and asked him these sensible Q’s. In the real world, to them, it is unfathomable that someone could be sitting in the audience questioning the legitimacy of the wts yet continuing to believe in Jah. As I was doing for some time. So forget about it.

  It’s these types of comments that infuriate me. And every kh has this voice. I hear it echoed to me every time I talk to my mom or sister on the telephone. It sickens me that some lunatic in a bad suit, spewing this crap from stage is the reason why my believing family members think with their whole hearts, they are getting better association from some uneducated brainwashed bum sitting next to them than from their own daughter/sister. T his topic strikes a nerve.
