    Gosh is this ever rich!

So you Britts have a time understanding northerners and southerners as well? We have problems like that here on our side of the pond as well. By the way, don't ever call somebody from my part of the U.S. a "Yank" to their face. that's a good way to lose a few teeth! :-) Yanks (Yankees) come from north of the Mason-Dixon line.

    ;-)

We also fixed the spelling of many words like center, theater, shop, favorite, etc to make them agree with their pronunciation..

    SHOP???

    and aluminium

    and shop???

    what's a 'toe sack'?

Slapped his knee and gave a grin...

"It sho' was good, back then!"

    Reaching for his horn,

    on the floor.

Kept it in an old toe-sack,

    he slung across his back...

    said good-bye,

    then shuffled out the door.

some American viwers were complaining that the movie didn't have any sub-titles!!! Worse still they complained about OUR accents!!!

Bloood-y hell, are you serious?? I'm absolutely GOB-SMACKED!! (love that English expression!)

I for one, have never heard an American or Canadian complain about movies made in England needing sub-titles.......you'd have to be pretty thick in the head to need that........I mean, for crissakes, did anyone on this side of the pond need sub-titles for Harry Potter movies? There's some English words or phrases that are different, but you can still understand what's being said..........
