May I ask you, then, dear 'Pom... did our Lord ever 'lie'... to ANYONE? Note, now, that I said 'lie'... and not 'deceive'. And yes, there is a BIG difference.

Well, he lied when he claimed to be the 'son of god'. In reality he was just some quack. How do i know that he lied?. Well, he decieved a lot of people with a fair few false prophecies, so he obviously wasn't the son of God. But, then again, maybe he was just delusional when he claimed he was the 'son of god'.So, technically he didn't lie; he was just plain mad; he believed his own fantasies.

You wanna 'touch' this one, 'Pom? Or will you do the typical dance of piety and fabricate some 'excuse', such as, "Well, he SAID that, but he later changed his mind." I don't think that will 'fly', though, dear one... for virtually all translations of the Bible (which YOU take so literally) say this exact same thing. And it is YOU that insist on taking things just as 'earthling' man has set them out... yes?
So, what's your answer, 'Pom? Did my Lord 'lie'... or didn't he? And thus, did he SIN... or no? I await your self-assured, 'non-goatlike' response. Oh, and you will find this passage at John 7:8-10.

This is GREAT! You're looking at WORDS. Cool!
In this instance, however, the operative word is not 'yet'... but... 'but'. Did you notice that he told them he wasn't going up 'yet'... BUT in fact DID go up... at the time he said he WASN'T... and did so in secret?
There's a point to be made, 'Pom, if only you 'wish' to see it. It is that my Lord said what he said... and did what he did... for a reason: LOVE.
Unfortunately, you are still so caught up in the 'right'... rather than the 'righteousness'... that you are missing that point which is actually a VERY important one, and your assertion that the time wasn't RIGHT is totally unfounded. Thus, when my Lord said, "My time hasn't come yet" he was in NO way talking about his 'time' to go up to the festival.

The REASON that my Lord told the others to go without him, and the REASON that he told them that he wasn't going up... yet... but DID in fact go up... and in SECRECY... was:
1. The Jews were seeking to kill him;
2. They would identify him by the MEN he was with (remember? They didn't know who HE was?)
3. This put HIM at risk of being impaled BEFORE his 'time', to the detriment of MANY, for he had not yet concluded a COVENANT with his disciples... for life... and a kingdom;
4. It put those WITH him at risk of being beaten, scourged and imprisoned... and killed before THEIR time, too. If that happened, they COULDN'T then fulfill the words "You will be WITNESSES OF ME... in all Judea and Samaria."
So, because he KNEW that his disciples would NOT go unless he was going and would NOT go without him UNLESS he sent them on, and would LOOK for him to HANG OUT with him when he got there... HE... in KEEPING the COMMAND to CELEBRATE such festival... UNDER THE LAW CODE... REMOVED THE RISK... to himself, to his disciples... and to all those who later came to call on him for salvation... of changing ANY of the 'order' of what was to take place as stated by the prophets!
He did what he did, 'Pom... out of love. FOR his disciples... and for ALL of mankind that eventually come to BE saved by means of him.
Where there is LOVE, 'Pom... there IS no 'law'. Thus, he DECEIVED no one, for deception purposes to cause injury. Rather, he caused to show LOVE... and give LIFE... and thus COULD NOT let the 'order' of things change just so he could be 'RIGHT'. Rather than being 'right' then, he chose, INSTEAD, to be 'RIGHTEOUS'. There is a difference.
May you HEAR... and get the SENSE of it.

And your point? 'Pom, they didn't kill him before his 'time'... because... the ones whose JOB it was was to kill him... didn't know what he looked like. That is why he ALWAYS managed to elude them. My Lord went up to the festival, because THE LAW COVENANT required him to attend the festival. He HAD to go, so that it could be fulfilled that he FULFILLED THE LAW... in every way.
