I went and saw it yesterday, and was pleasantly surprised. I usually don't care much for comic-book superhero movies, but this one was pretty darn good.

We went and it was great. Is it sacriligeous to say I liked it better than the last Star Wars.
They plan on making additional movies with the same cast (except a new female lead) featuring a new adversary.

There was an article in a British newspaper that quoted a "drunken" Christian Bale as saying that negotiations were underway with Sean Penn to play the Joker.

I also loved it.
I think much of the appeal to some of us comes from our desire to be superheros.
A guy like a fireman may get an opportunity to challenge his fears or be a "hero" every week or so.
For myself, and maybe others, the opportunities for noble action are few and far between.
I don't thik it's so much the potential adrenaline rush I crave as the opportunity to feel I have some value, that I have been of some use, that I made a positive difference.
I worry that when it matters, I might be a coward.
Of course he had his anger, but I wonder if Batman had any heros? That might be worth a plotline.
