I feel like Miss Katie is getting in over her head, but what do I know? I fear she's being sucked into Scientology with little knowledge of what she's really getting into because of Cruise and because that "religion" is the in-thing in Hollywood these days and that's too bad. I don't like to see anybody swallowed up by a cult.

She's so young. If I knew her, I'd want to tell her to give it some time, to enjoy her life and her freedom for a while. But who can stop anybody when their heart is set on a course of action? Nobody could have stopped me from getting married back when I was her age. I was invincible. I thought I knew everything.

Then, after nine years of an unhappy marriage, I went and joined a cult. I still thought I knew everything. Some people have to learn the hard way.

    Luna,

I'm right there with you. If this isn't a publicity stunt, then I'm really worried for her. She has no clue what her life is going to be like. I have to wonder what her family thinks about her conversion for this marriage? But then again, I'm the same as you and her - I have to learn by my own mistakes...witnessing other people's doesn't teach me a thing! LOL

Well, I certainly wish them a wonderful, and long marriage....however, I think Cruise is desparately trying to hold on to his youth. He seems more like an older brother to Katie, than husband material....and I think it will be only a matter of time before she grows weary of his manipulating ways...ie. getting her involved with the church of scientology, and divorces him. Only my humble opinion....

I feel sorry for her, she seems so into Tom and so naive. Did you read where he "interviewed" some other actresses, pushed his Scientology beliefs on them...and they either didn't fit his requirements after the interviews, or at least one of them ran. Wish I was up on actresses, but I'm not. However, there is a big story going around on this. Katie seems to have gulped it all up.

The other thing that worries me...have you seen the lady Tom has hired, a Scientologist higher up, to shadow Katie and make sure she says and does the right things? Scary!

    To each their own.

My life will not change one bit if they get married or not. I hope they are happy.

Okay------I admit I watch way too much TV! I have to say that in the past few days there has been a tremendous amount of coverage on this, and all the stories say that Katie has not seen or spoken to any of her (now former?) friends or relatives since this whole love situation began. They are all quite worried about her and the way she (and Tom) are behaving. Seems that Katie is doing things that are totally not like her.

Sure seems like a real case of recruiting and lovebombing (AND staying completely away from old and trusted friends) is working its magic on her. I don't have a problem with the age difference, that never bothered me---in general, but this other stuff is dangerous.

Tom does seem to have a new love interest every time there is a new movie about to emerge, but to go around the way he has recently and coming off looking like a total jerk----it will be detrimetal to his whole career if he DOES make a fool out of the young Miss Holmes and dump her too after a while. People are still upset over his split with Nicole but have been "forgiving". I doubt he could pull it off again and still have very many loyal fans or movie scripts being offered.

Well, I did see an interview with Katie where she said she had always dreamed of marrying Tom Cruise since she was young.And...well... she is still young and I think niave. She might be confusing a childhood crush with love and as for Tom ,,, maybe he is just trying to stay young forever...Who knows?? anyway,, its their life and if they can be happy thats great....if they break up after 2 years..... well... its just another Hollywood marriage...its happens all the time.....

Statistics show that second marraiges are less likely to work than the first marraige.. The more marraiges you are in the chances of them lasting are even less ( examples :Elizabeth Taylor, Liza Minelli, Maralyn Monroe,Julia Roberts, the list goes on and on with many male celebrities added to this list. I can understand being totally in love and thinking life with that person will always feel this way.. but this is the early feel good stage of this relationship. Most of us know though that this is just the excitment lust hormone kicking in and it usually lasts anything from three months up to three years and while it lasts you can do some really foolish things!!!. Ask anthropologist Helen Fisher who studies human relationships. As romantic as I am as as much as I love the idea of romance and love..I have this thing called common sense..and it tends to kick in....If a man or woman can't make the first marraige work..or the second..what the hell makes them think its going to be any different in the third marraige. I'm seeing a pattern here!!!

Anyway..I agree about Katie being young and niave..Tom's got a track record. As much as I would love this relationship to last for them both till death do they part...I don't like their chances. I'm sure katie would like to have children. Can anyone tell me if Tom fathered children from his other marraiges?? I was under the impression he couldn't father children..my mistake maybe.

My advice to Katie would be the same advice to Forest Gump and the bullies..
    RUN KATIE RUN!!!!!!!!!!

Go find yourself a nice young single fellow who has never been married and comes from a stable family and doesn't live in a fantasy world!!!!!!!

    Katie gushes over Tom, Scientology

    By Associated Press

The future Mrs. Tom Cruise has already tried on at least one wedding gown.

Katie Holmes appears in the August issue of W magazine posing in a Commes des Garcons wedding dress and continuing to gush about her fiance. The couple, who went public with their relationship in April, haven't announced a date for their marriage.

"Tom and I will always be in our honeymoon phase," Holmes says in W, on newsstands July 22. In the interview, a theme emerges with many similar comments, including "Tom is the most incredible man in the world."

Cruise, 42, and Holmes, 26, became engaged last month after the "War of the Worlds" star proposed at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Holmes, who co-stars in "Batman Begins," has said she's taking lessons in Cruise's faith of Scientology.

"I'm learning to celebrate my own spirit, my own being," she says.

During the W interview, the actress wouldn't part from Jessica Rodriguez, who is described as her "Scientologist chaperon." Rodriguez's role in Holmes' life remains vague, though Rodriguez says they're "just best friends" since meeting around the time Holmes met Cruise.

"You adore him," Rodriguez told Holmes when the actress was at a loss for words to describe her love.

Not to forget their day jobs, Holmes says she wants to make a movie with Cruise.

"That would be such an honor," she says. "Such an honor."
