Not being sarcastic. It was really said. Actually she was just a little bit shy of making her hours but she was given full credit for her 60 hours and met her auxillary pioneer quota.

Aude - aaaah that is so JW like - so insensitive and callous and so missing the point!!!! Those JWs' in that congregation should be embarressed.
I've been in many accidents being a JW - car related, toilet related, being caught doing naughty things related, drinking related, the list goes on and on....

There was a case where a bethel agent killed someone whilst driving on WTS business.
The WT settled out of court to the tune of 1.5 million, as fighting it in court might have set a dangerous precedent in the courts.
Can't remember details read it on this board.

Aude - actually we had a similar situation in a hall I used to attend. An elder with a carload of sisters out in service made a left turn in front of a semi (not paying attention, I guess, busy with chatter in the car). The sister in the passenger seat was killed. She was pioneering that month. A week later in some portion on pioneering someone gave an example of another person who was "faithful to the end" and had died while pioneering, with the implication that "there was no better way to die". The daughter of the woman who had been killed was at the meeting, and spent the rest of the meeting crying in the bathroom. A lot of people at the meeting were appalled at the lack of sensitivity, but many saw no problem with those kinds of comments.
The elder voluntarily stepped down and later moved away. He was a good person and was devastated by the accident.

I heard of a cargroup being killed a car-train accident - CO, DO, and two elders is the way I heard it - but cannot confirm the truth of the story.
I had one accident in service once. This guy was passing me in a no passing zone, speeding, in front of a RR crossing. I was making a left turn into a driveway and he side-swiped me. The guy was 40ish, and I was 19, so guess who got the ticket. I got it thrown out of court though.
