Probably when you brake, your buttlight shines, so the cops won't stop ya.....
Did you ever get a speeding ticket or make an accident, serving Jehovah?

No, but I got a speeding ticket once coming home from an Assembly.
It was on a stretch of road (A9 between Perth and Inverness) that was interspersed with "Dual Carriageway" (two lane highway), which allows an additional 10mph in Britain. I got caught out when it switched backThe Policeman was nice an'all (and anal ), and said that it wasn't really an excessive speed and I wasn't driving in a dangerous manner, however he still booked me.
Oh the humanity!!!

Oh My Gosh.... HOW could I have forgotten???
An event that deeply impacted my life.
I was 14 back in 1975. Feb 16. On the way to Assembly Hall in Monroe NY for special talk. Two families (Close friends of mine) were involved in a head-on collision. Father was killed instantly. Mother was critical. One son was badly injured and died the next day. He was 9 or 10 years old.
The other son is now serving at Brooklyn Bethel.
It was terrible.
The mother never really recovered from that horror.
She died 2 or 3 years ago after spending nearly 2 decades indoors - isolated from friends and even her surviving son.
What's odd, I remember at the memorial for them, we were crying from such overwhelming sadness but also talking about how it would only be a few months until we saw them again. There was much speculation that the dead would be raised in 'reverse order' and so they would be amongst the first to be resurrected -- September / October 1975.
Odd how I didn't think of this report when I posted the other. It had dramatic impace on my emotional development.

(who still crys on Feb 16 or when she hears EltonJohn's song: Funeral for a Friend - but that's a story for a different thread.......I should maybe start just lighting a candle on Feb 16 and 17 in memory of Jim and Ricky F. And Mickey, the mother, too.) -

No, but as a passenger I was in danger. Many years ago, a Sunday car group almost got into a head on left hand turn collision because the stupid brother was busy talking with the rest of the people in the car and not paying attention to the road. I had to yell out WATCH OUT!!! before we got creamed. There were other lesser close calls over the years.
I soon compiled a list of people who I would NEVER get into a car with!!
