1: Putting in the Greatest Man book where Christ talksof the sign (you know there was a picture of a space sattellite) - So Armageddon will come in the lifetime of those who see the fulfilment of all he predicted. Damn! I wish I hadn't thrown that book out...
2: Assembly the 'tote' talk when we raise ourselves erect because deliverance draws near. That's when I realised they would change the generation and the sheep and goats teachings.
3: 1995 change of generation.
Note the progression, subtle hint of change, change of an "intermediate" doctrine, pull the rug from under them.
Sundays WT study on the resurrection is the subtle hint
"If it appears that you are going to die before the start of Christ's millenial reign, you can take comfort in the certainty that relief will come"
This is building the retaining wall to stop the hemorage of leavers if they just changed the teaching suddenly. Get the gophers to get used to the idea that , even if they realise the prediction of millions now living is a lie, they won't get a resurrection unless they stick with the Borg.
I reckon the next is a talk or study article that tied with this calls 1914 very gently into question. Get them used to doubting maybe privately, or at least seeing it is open to question.
This happened at this year's Districy Convention. Resurrection was stressed. One talk said: "Some people have even gone so far as to make comments like ' You'll never have to grow up in this system, Armageddon will be here by then.' Never would we want to be that presumptuous."
Then the Rug Pull. If you don't believe that 1914 wasn't the end of the gentile times, you won't get a resurrection. Or "if you thought you'd never dieyou conned yourself" (a la 1975, 1925 etc)
Maybe they will first change the date when Christ came to Kingdom power (they did that often enough)
it's the steps between the first subtle hint and the final rug pull that will intrigue me. How will they get the dubs to accept each little step without realising where they are going to end up?
