In all fairness, fear of bombing is not unique to jws. Also, I seriously doubt the police would bring in a bomb squad just because jws requested it. If it wasn't warranted, they wouldn't have done it. Adding to the concern was likely the fact that it was found near an auditorium.
We just had someone find a paper bag on the roadside, and our police detonated it. Turned out to be full of clothes. This stuff happens every day in our post-911 world. Better safe than sorry.
I was at a convention that had a bomb scare once. It was really sad how scared the older people were.

I think that is the proper thing to do with the NWT. Blow them up! and just think, our tax dollars paid to have it done. carla

I was at a small assembly "circuit" where a bomb threat was phoned in to a radio station I think.
It was right here in S/W Idaho.
The police came and cased the place and it turned out to be a hoax.
About a Year later my daughter tells me that she and an elders daughter had thought this up and the elders daughter had phoned it in.
To this day no one who knew of this, spilled the beans. Including me.
