Dubs are the WALKING DEAD

Lately I've just been getting contacted quite a bit by depressed zombie like cultist's. I thought I would welcome being contacted by dubs after I DA'ed but I actually really find it annoying! They all drop comments like "nothing ever changes.." "I don't really go to the meeting's that much.." "I'm just so bored.." "If I didn't have meetings I could go back to school" "brother shitbag is a jerk.. I'm so sick of him.." "the elders treat me like a child" blah blah blah. It's this constant state of droning, trudging, feet dragging subservience that drives me nuts. But every time I say ANYTHING negative about the cult the Watchtower haze of stupidity comes over their eyes and they stop talking or leave.

Okay well here's an idea you guys: please F*CK OFF and get the hell out of my life!! I listened to that bullshit complaining for over 28 years and I'm sick to death of it. Grow a set of balls and get a life for Christ's sake!

    END RANT.

Just think of how "happy" they'll be in the 'new system' when everyone will live like a dub 24-7.

    Sounds like fun!

    ya, weird hey?

it's like you are only allowed to listen with those jag bags (thx EF), and you're not allowed to comment on anything because they have to "protect their spirituality"! puhleeze!

but, perhaps their mind is coming around. who can say?

It's sad really, that there are so many JW's that are NOT happy being a JW. It's a chore to them , going to 5 meetings a week, out in the service for at least 10 hours or more a week, conducting bible studies, looking after the widows, and fatherless children....hahahah, did I say that???? oops, must be thinking about another organization...hahaha....they, with the long faces and complaints....I've seen the same glaze come over my father's eyes, and he quickly changes the subject, and defends the "truth"....I've told him to do what makes him happy, and it certainly isn't being a JW...but, alas, he's reinstated again, and on the road to "happiness" once more....for the time being..Why can't they just leave? What are they afraid of, other than the big "A"? They really are the walking dead, GBL...right on.

Delilah (recognizing tho', there are a few JW's who are perfectly happy where they are)and good for them...whatever floats their boat...

It's so funny you mention this...

Every Dub "friend" I had would BITCH incessantly about the bOrg and it's adherents... but the second you try and offer some "enlightening" truth about the "truth"... they go on instant default to Dub mindlessness... Even when I say... but you said... they don't want to hear it. You can bitch all you want.. but don't try and actually make an assessment of the bOrg or try to fix it...

The Emperors new clothes... sums it up.

To borrow a line from Dawn of the Dead..."when there's no more room in hell the dubs will walk the earth....."

You see a similar mentality among people who are being abused by their partners but just aren't ready to leave the relationship. They whine, they moan, they complain about all the partner's faults and can rhyme off all the bad stuff that they've had happen to them at the hands of their partner. But if you say something negative about the partner, they start getting defensive and proclaiming all the good stuff that's happened because of being in the relationship - a roof over their head, a good provider, a good parent, blah blah blah ad nauseum.

It appears to be part and parcel of the psychological baggage in what experts call "Stockholm Syndrome". The person in the victim role has adjusted and accepted that way of life as part of a larger survival mechanism. In JW terms, this could be as simple as the ever-present realization that to leave the group entails the loss of all social relationships, which is extremely threatening to someone who literally has nothing on the other side in terms of a social network or emotional support network.

There was an episode of Cheers that was like that... everyone was afraid of, and bitched about Carla's mother. When Sam witnessed it and called her out for being so mean... the entire family turned on him and said, "How can you treat Momma like that?". Then after turning on Sam they all sit down and eat a meal together as if somehow peace had now returned to the family.

    Wierd... period!

Scully--that's a great analogy. It's weird but even though I wish my sister would leave the JWs, at the same time--she has emotional problems and I worry that if she left it, she would end up in a mental institution. I think her little world is what holds her together.
