So- here's some good news, and some bad news.
Bad news first.
My alternator is dead.
Good news.
No Service for at least a week.
Bad News.
Had "Dates and such" I had to cancel
Good news.
I made it to the Dairy Queen before I broke down.
I want to put this car out of its misery and get a truck. (plus, what kind of apostate needs a good service car?)

Plus - I've been driving for more than a YEAR now and I've driven out in service TWICE. And then. those times were just me and another brother...
Do you do much work on cars? You might be able to get a rebuilt alternator, fix the car, then sell it so you'd have something to put toward a truck. Or do you have to wait until you are 18 to trade the service-worthy car in?
Yeah, I do a lot of work on cars. I can replace the alternator, no problem. It's paying for it, plus it screwing up my social plans. Plus, I won't be able to drive to the convention most likely (which puts a damper on Richie's evening fun) and I won't be able to go out in service...
So there are some pros and some cons, but its mostly cons.
Ok. So it will be 130 for a new alternator.
I will buy it day after tommorrow and a friend is going to help me install it.
My dad will loan me the money, and I will go do some odd jobs to pay him back quick.
I've got a buddy who's dad owns a deck building company. I can help them out for 2 or 3 days and make enough to pay dad back, give the kid some money or buy him lunch or something, and put a little gas in the tank.
Not bad.

No kidding. I've already put a transmission in it.
I like it for what it is, but I would rather have a truck...
I like the nissan armada... but a Good ole Dodge ram would do...

Good luck Richie on even finding the alternator on newer cars , do they cram the stuff under them hoods.
