Am I doing this right?

SO what do I do next?

    Hi Richie,

I don't really know you nor you me so I hope you won't mind me giving you a little advise. I think you should proceed with caution both for her sake and for yours. She sounds like she is questioning the wt but in a very limited way. If you go dumping anything too harsh about the watchtower on her it may drive her away from you and deeper into the wt. Kinda like throwing a bucket of ice water on someone who says they are thirsty. She sounds like the kind of witness who when they are having doubts or problems try to get rid of them by doing more of "Jehovah's work". If they just read more watchtowers and go out in service more the doubts go away and they will be a better witness. If you do bring anything negative up I think you should detach yourself from it and present it as more of something you came across on the net by accident rather than something you regularly look at or believe. By her reaction you should be able to tell if you can proceed any further.

You also said she was in your area. I think you should be cautious in what you say to anyone who could possibly ID you until you are prepared for all hell to break loose. You might want to finish college before that happens.

It's amazing how people get brainwashed and persuaded into making such big sacrifices for the borg how they can't see the lies and manipulation, they could spend a lifetime cleaning houses, washing windows or working for McDonalds, and should a need arise the tight WTS will not want to know despite its billions. "Jehovah himself will reward soon" they say.

    Hey Richie,

I think you did a great job planting seeds. I just hope this won't backfire on you. So many of the little witnessettes are big tattle tales.

She totally went from being mine to "BTW where are you guys staying for the assembly?" And I quit, I really do appreciate your candor and concern. But as you mentioned, you don't know me nor I you. At any moment, if I was caught on this board, I'd be DFed oh so quick. I know that well and think of it all too often. However, its worth it to me. Freedom is worth any price. If you aren't willing to pay that price, you don't deserve freeedom. I hope you can understand this, and if you can't, just PM me and rant like everyone else does. Thanks

EDITED TO TELL YOU ABOUT LAST NIGHT"S BOOK STUDY

We were sitting there talking about whether or not we had old books or new books. I said "Well you know they changed them after we got them, so the new books are slightly different from the old."

The people with new books looked in the front cover, and it said "First Run. 1999."

THen some old sister made a smartass comment and the study started.

SO I came home and looked up the changes on here. I'm going to show them the changes next week...

Once again... where do I go with that?

Where is she questioning the WTS? I don't see that. I just see a lassy reinforcing herself coming off of Pioneering and going back to school.

Hopefully school will help her think, so I wouldn't be quick to push anything. She's spent years being indoctrinated - are you going to undo that in a couple of conversations? Let her school friends do their work

Hopefully she'll become a balanced and integrated member of society, at the end of it.

As for the old book thing - the best way to approach this is to use the old book in the study. Then look around quizzically when they read something different, and comment on it. Don't go trying to call at the front door with a list of changes - it's got an electrified door bell...

Holy frick richie you're at 1170 posts!! yu da man with your big light sabre;)

You're a pro apostanator too, but I agree fully with euphemism, take it nice and slow on matters that affect her directly on her level. Remember it's taken you some time to develop the position you currently have, so don't expect to convert her in the one convo. Alls you can do is sow the seeds of doubt. She sounds a lil like me at that age, definite tendancy to rebel, so freak out and fully remove mysel from any tempting situation. As soon as she gets a taste of the "real life", she won't go back to the vommit:)) Good work matey. frog

I don't think she was changing subjects necessarily--could it be she just felt the topic had been covered, nothing more to say, let's talk about something else?

    Anyway, you accomplished a lot.

its different if your just going to say "oh i went to college for 8 years look at me"
More WTS bs: People go to college just to improve their egos. Yeah, and bragging rights was the reason I went without health insurance, was poor, lived in a ghetto, worked my *ss off for 7 years...that's why most people do it...just for the bragging rights...

Thanks, I know that I've accomplished a lot, and I would like to lead her out, but I guess she has to do that in her own time.
