I felt my finger snap back on itself and when I looked at my finger I realised I had done something really bad. My finger at the first knuckle was bent at 45 degrees while the rest of my finger was straight.

sorry but...

i don't understand Q. if you were taking your pants off, and trying to get your sock at the same time, then shouldn't have one of your fingers been in your sock anyways? and if you were pushing down on your pants, and your finger became lodged in your sock, then would your sock not also be pushed down with the same momentum you were using for your pants? did your middle finger butt up against your heel or something like that?
