A little bit off topic, but one of the supposed "modern classics" of Contemporary Christian music is "Our God is An Awesome God". You've probably heard it. It is the suckiest sucky song I've ever heard I think.

I don't know a lot about Christian Rock, but I have a friend who enjoys it somewhat. She's sent me a few things that aren't too bad. I guess I just have a mental block about anything religious at all these days.

I think some of it is very good. I really like Jennifer Knapp, the Supertone, Altogether Separate.
What I don't like about Christian rock is that they seem to think every song has to be about religion. I think they should write more songs about everyday themes. I mean and 18 christian musician is going to be attracted to a young lady so why not write about. Going to the beach, a hot car, how you love your wife or kids. Things like this are as much a part of a Christians live as anyone elses. If I were a musician I would prefer to be thought of as musician who happened to be a Christian rather than a Christian musician.

From the little I have heard of P.O.D there are not that bad for a christian band....more mainstream than preachy, but generally you are right it does suck.
