No fibs here. Never said it was painless, just similar to having blood drawn for a blood test. I'll agree it depends on the nurse too; but then I feel that way when I have my blood tests done; there are some staff who I won't let near me. A lot of the after effects are psychological. Each time gets easier and easier.

    Good for you, frog.

I don't know if I could give blood - not because of the needles or anything, still think a bit of the old way of thinking is still engraved in my brain...will take some time before I can do that. But well well done !!!! it is a huge step, shows you've left the whole lot behind you.

Well done froggy ... i think i'm a long way off from that, not because of JW stuff but because i hate all needles, BIG or small . I always cry when i get vaccinations or blood tests, and i mean ALWAYS... so i try not to go there at all... congrats on passing another mental barrier...

... btw, have you had your tattoo done yet?

Hey, frog, good for you! I gave blood once a few years ago and had virtually no discomfort. I was quite surprised to hear you had such a tough time. How much do you weigh? Here in the US you have to weigh at least 100 lbs. (just over 45 kilos, 8 1/2 stone) to give blood.

I'd donate more often, but my sex life is a little too exotic for the Red Cross. I'm very careful and still test negative for those germs, but I still gotta face that damn questionnaire.

    Well done Frog !!

The Blood Transfusion Service actually come to my office building twice a year. I wanted to give, it it could be done discreetly. But they said that I would go on the mailing list for updates and reminders and they could not stop that. If I got mail with the NBTS logo, then I guess the secret would be out.

I decided it was not worth a divorce... one day though....
