If anyone is ever in the Baltimore area, make sure to stop and see Ft. McHenry. For those of you who don't know, Ft. McHenry is where Francis Scott Key wrote the Star Spangled Banner.
They have a short movie with period actors telling the story leading up to the bombardment of the Fort during the War of 1812, and at the end, they open the curtains and you are able to see the the flag on the actual flagpole that inspired our National Anthem. It really brings new meaning to the words of our National Anthem.

Interestingly enough, when I was a dub, the society told us the Star Spangled Banner was a "religious prayer" and I believed it. You can listed to every line in that song and won't find anything even resembling a religious prayer.
