I would, quite happily. Even if it was just to prove Im not some evil apostate, frothing at the mouth.
The REAL question here... is would they accept it???
The people in the organization were - or claimed in a conditional way to be - my friends for 40 years. I would treat them as people, former friends - not members of a specific group - for then I would be guilty of 'labeling' them, as they have me. They have turned their collective backs on me, but I would not return the evil for evil.
I would display Christlike love in all cases.

yes I would help them. To know that not even their fellow dubbers would help them but I would, would hopefully lead them to think a bit. I'll still show them love no matter.
Yes, of course. I would treat them the same as I would any other stranger on the street.
That being said, there are very few people that I would give a business recommendation to, JW or not.
I once had a JW ask me to cosign a loan application for him & his wife. The answer was 'no', but only for the obvious, normal reasons. I didn't want to pay it if they defaulted.

I'd be willing to help anyone, including a dub, if they were in need. If it was the only job they could get in the area and their lively-hood depended on it, and I could help them, then I would. I don't hate them, they're just people on a mis-guided course like I once was.
But the question did remind me of an event about 5 years ago. My ex-wife (not ex at that time) and I were both df'd and trying to get back in for our families. We'd been going to the local meetings for about a month. It was a Thursday night Theocratic Ministry school and we left right at the end of the prayer as usual. About 50 yards down the road out of the kingdom hall parking lot my car sputtered to a stop on the side of the road. I'd run out of gas. It was a chilly night and the nearest gas station was a little over a mile down the road. So my wife and I walked in our dress clothes beside the road down to the gas station as all the witnesses drove by. Not one offered a ride or asked what was wrong. It was one of the best anti-witnesses I ever had.
In a life threatening situation, I would help most anyone.I won't be used by a dub to get a job or something of that sort.
It truly depends on the dub. If it someone I like, I would be inclined to help.
However, in the case of most of them, if they were broken down on the side of the road, I would drive by with middle finger extended, chin up, and hammer down.
I just HAD to comment on Richie's post!
I too would help just about everyone in an emergency or life-threatening situation when and if I could. I would be more inclined to do so if it was an older person who had always been nice and who is truly a non-vindictive type who is a pawn of the Org. I do know several who fit that description.
The circumstances aren't bound to arise though, because the WTS keeps the JWs away from us 'postates so it rarely would apply. In my case anyway!
I burst right out laughing when I read the last part of the post though! My first thought was much the same in feeling, but once again, it would depend on who was in trouble and where. It would soften some personal hearts if we were to stop and lend a helping hand to a JW Mom with a carful of kiddies and who had a flat tire, etc. It sure would make her stop and think for a few moments wouldn't it.
IF it was happening to a pompous elder or one of the holier-than-thou Dubs, I'd most likely pass'em right by while I waved at them like I knew them! Then again, it would be a lot more humbling if THEY were the type that "we" stopped to help!
As far as helping to get a Dub a job..............nahhhhh. Can't see that one happening.

especially if it would "rake (sic?) firey coals upon their head"
A few years back I was buying a house and moving out of my apartment with really cheap rent. At the same time I was leaving my job and moving to where my new house was.
I had a family member (not blood related) ask if she could take over my job AND my apartment. I was still an active dub (single mother) and this dub had not done one thing ever to help me. She lived across the way from me and would have parties and such and not invite me. She even went so far to have my mother plead on her behalf. It was quite sickening.
I did not help and she neither received the job or the apartment.
That being a specific circumstance, if it was in my power to help someone who really needed it whether they were a dub or not, I would not hold back my help.

Yep, because it is the right thing to do. If it was in my power to help, I would.
