No increase so far for the Society in the United States

  From September 2004 to April 2005, there has been no significant increase in the number of publishers reporting for the 2005 service year, which began last September.

  December 2004 - 997,250

  January 2005 - 990,365

  February 2005 - 984,747

  March 2005 - 992,732

  April 2005 - 1,004,310

  An average of 992,939 publishers reported from Sep 2004 to April 2005.

  Last years average publisher figures for the U.S.A. was 992,809.

  There has been an increase of 130 publishers on average.

  Despite the "Keep On The Watch" brochure and hardline policies, and District Convention beatings, the publishers in the United States do not seem to be conscious of their spiritual food coming from the bounteous table of Jehovah, as provided by the faithful and discreet slave class.

  Kwin, the numbers are from Kingdom Ministries (December 2004 to July 2005).

  The KM always publishers the figures 3 months behind, so December issue of the KM gives you the service report for September, January gives you October and so on.

  Does this mean armageddon is close??

  I'd just love to hear the watchtower spin on this one. Anyone heard what witnesses are saying about the apparent lack of growth in alot of countries? Usually you'd think that when the work is slowing down it means the harvest is complete and the end should be soon.

  I'd love to see a comparison in the baptism of non-jws (non-jw parents) vs the growth of non jw-population in the world. Has anyone looked at this. I think this would clearly show that the longer god waits the more people he's gonna have to destroy at armageddon.

  There has been an increase of 130 publishers on average.

  I don't see it. If you subtract each month's total from the previous month's total, you get the increase (or decrease, ha ha ha) for each month. Add them up and divide by 8 (the number of months tracked here) and you get an average increase of 2085.5.

  But, you know, for the an entire country of 250 million, that ain't too impressive.
