Hello everyone, Im in a bit of a dilema here, Ive been dating a girl who is studying with the JWs, not babtized yet, but wants to just as soon as she is ready to fully dedicate herself. Anyhow Ive tried reasoning with here concerning scripture only to have her say that she doesnt really now but will ask someone (elder). So in an attempt to discredit the WTBS I purchased some materials from watchmen on the false dates and doctrine reversals. The material was simply quotes from wtbs material. It was some amazing stuff, however she doesnt believe me they are authentic. She claims they are either made up or taken out of context. I have cross referenced many of them and are convinced they are authentic. Thats not enough for her, she wants to see it from official books no photo copies. My question is this.

Where can I find official wtbs material? Are they available at the local KH's? What about libraries, etc. I have seen some stuff for sale on the Internet, but im not sure she would believe those, seriously... you know satan could be trying to lure her away from the truth.

When confronted with the real truth, the loyal JW has a very tough time believing it. They cannot believe it is true.

yes in the kingdom hall there should be a library. It depends maybe a bit on the congregation how much material they have. Many have also lots of older materials. However the KH is not really a good place to be left alone an do some research.
The library in the hall is very seldom used, and even looking briefly in it will get you attention. But it is a possibility.

Then there are lot of brothers around who have there own personal library with a lot of old stuff. Cn ask to borrow them some old volumes maybe...

You do realize that once shes baptized you will be history. They will pressure her into giving you up. If she refuses she will be marked, that means no one will have any association with her outside the KH.

I hope they do mark her, this will show her what shes got herself into and maybe she will then see it for what it is

As for the information you are looking for, its doubful the KH will have it if its old or has "old" light in it. They wouldnt allow you access to it and if your GF asks they will become very suspicious.

I notices that many jw's seen to have a fetisch for those older books. (they do not read them, they just keep them. It is like something almost holy for them. They have them.

This is indeed a biger problem. Try to find an oldtimer with a lot of books.

Vitty, actually....if they are aware she is dating a non-witness, then they may not let her get baptised at all unless she's already engaged. She is becoming unevenly yoked. If a servant in the congregation begins dating "worldly" women, he'll lose his position.......so why would they allow a baptism of an individual doing the same?

Datingajwgirl......good luck on your find.......however don't be surprised if you show her these things straight out of their publications because they'll have an answer for her regardless. All they have to do is tell her Jehovah's people are constantly getting "refined" and recieving "New Light". The stuff you'll show her is "old light" according to them.

Their paranoia should make her suspicious of them.

Local non-JW libraries have WTS publications and if your library is like mine it is connected with many other libraries on a loan system. My library system has a online way to look for books and check them out. (still have to pick them up though). If you have a university nearby, check their library and the policies for checking out books to non university students. Otherwise there are always used book websites and ebay and freeminds if you need hard copies.
