The material was simply quotes from wtbs material. It was some amazing stuff, however she doesnt believe me they are authentic. She claims they are either made up or taken out of context.

The most simple thing you can do is write to the Watchtower Society and request copies of the articles in question.

    Watchtower Bible and Tract Society
    25 Columbia Heights
    Brooklyn, NY 11201-2483.

Here is a sample letter you can send:

    Dear Sir or Maddam,

I am writing to request reproductions or photocopies of the following articles from your archive:

    1. Publication Name, Date, and Article Name. (You can also include page numbers)
    2. Publication Name, Date, and Article Name.
    3. Publication Name, Date, and Article Name.

I am willing to pay a processing fee for this up to $10.00. If the fee will be greater please contact me before procceding with the work.

    Thank You,

    [Your Name]

Oh, and don't forget to include a check for the amount you are willing to pay. This will also give you the ability to track when the check is cashed.

I'm wondering if she is opening her mind, since she's willing to discuss it if she can look at original copies. Maybe give her a list of literature citations and ask her to get copies of the books/magazines herself. That way she can be sure she is getting them from a reliable source. You could say, "Aren't you concerned about the things I've discovered? Don't you want to prove it for yourself?"

The burden of proof should really be on her at this point. She should be able to prove to you that your references are lies--if she's making that claim, she should be able to easily prove it.

Another option--maybe you tried this already--is to give her the URLs from the UN itself showing the WTS was a NGO and the URL of the Securities and Exchange Commission showing the WTS owned Rand stock. If you don't have them already, here they are. It's really hard to type with a kitten crawling all over you. What I wanted to say is, if she doesn't believe the URLs are real documents, then ask her to call the UN and SEC herself to verify them.

It will be great if you show her that the JWs are a cultish organisation before she gets totally committed to it, there is also an official WTS website at www.watchtower.org

    datingajwgirl,

The answer is complicated but you can keep it simple. You can do two things.

    1. Go with her to the kingdom hall and tell people you are her boyfriend. You can do this by not stating you are her boyfriend, just sit with her and they will assume this. Sitting next to an unbeliever of the opposite gender is proof you're having sex in witness eyes!

This puts the elders on notice she is not complying with the rules. May slow down the baptism thing. (Risk is she may comply and drop you, or say "Hey, let's get married.")

    or try this:

    2. Go to a few second hand book stores and look for a copy of the book, "You Can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth". It has a red cover and on the last page of chapter 18 you will find an illustration of a calander with the year 1914 on it, next to it is a series showing a boy growing to manhood and old age. The caption next to it is 'ARMAGEDDON some of the generation living in 1914 will see the end of the system of things and survive it." This is indicating that the last days end within the generation of 1914. Its very blatant and right there in print. Anyone can find this book in a second hand store. I see them all the time. This book only went out of print around 1995 when the Knowledge book came into vouge. (Have her compare that to the Nov. 1st Watchtower study article; "Saved from a wicked generation".)

Just ask her, "What does this mean?" Let the ball roll from there. They will have to explain to her that they dont beleive that anymore.

You may find that ultimately she isn't the girl for you. Hope she can be awakened from her trance by a gentle kiss from her prince charming.

    Good luck.

    datingajwgirl,

(Have her compare that to the Nov. 1st 1995 Watchtower study article; "Saved from a wicked generation".) That bound volume is in the KH library and she can borrow it from her teacher.

oops Never give up, never surrender! W.Once

    greetings datingajwgirl!

I don't know what country you may be in, but here is an idea for you that might be a good, reusable resource. Since your girlfriend is still studying, her study conductor will likely want to provide her with as much 'food' as possible. Have her ask for a Watchtower CD-ROM. It contains articles back to the 50's and has more than enough to provide you (and her) with evidence of the policy and doctrine flip-flops, UN hypocricy, and the false prediction hysteria about 1975. It should be provided free since she is making sure of what she is learning from the witness. (When I pioneered, I can remember giving away dozens of bound volumes and stuff to studies so I think she could get one if available) Then, using the net to find the specific articles, you can pull them up on the WT CDROM and show her that the sites are strait up about the WTBTS. Then just hop over to silentlambs and let her brain kick in.

Good luck. It's not easy. I hope the suggestions here work. It sounds as if the JW's have got their hooks in her pretty deep already. If she trusts them more than she trusts you, brace yourself for either a relationship from hell or more likely they will pressure her into breaking up with you, unless you join too. DON'T!

Iv'e had this same problem! Even though they should have access to their own library to check these things! Even if you order off the net some actual copies of wt's they may say, they are fakes. Then you can offer to have the ink & paper tested against one from their own library and split the cost (very expensive). They then will accept even photocopies and/or actual copies you purchased as the real deal. When it comes down to it they just don't want to see, no matter how much you show them. Good luck, let us know how you get on and if anything works for you. carla

after rereading what I posted, I meant to say, "Second hand" stores. Not second hand book stores. Book stores wont touch witness mass produced books unless its really old and interesting looking. Your local salvation army store or other thrift stores will have at least one copy of You Can Live Forerver in Paradise On Earth on the shelf.
