The criminal justice system is not just, but it certainly is criminal the joke goes. Its as flawed as everything else we humans have constructed but it is better than the chaos and anarchy that would rule without it. What if the story had read, granny mistakenly shoots wrong guys because of mis-iding them. The old saw goes we would rather have 100 guilty go free rather than convict one innocent person, it all seems very academic until you are in the defendent's chair and you didn't do it.

I am not a promoter of gun control, I agree with Hillbilly, if law abiding citizens, especially women were armed then justice could be possibly dispensed at the time of the act, not after the fact. In my state attempted rape is lawful cause for a woman to use deadly force to protect herself, that's when the shooting should take place if it is going to take place.

As mentioned in my earlier post, I shoot competitively and used to hunt. I also have a concealed weapons permit and frankly I do carry my firearm, where allowed by law. I had a concealed permit in NJ and NY (very rare in either of these states because of their gun control laws) I also carried in PA, where I was robbed at gunpoint by a young man, in broad daylight two block from my home. I swore never again would I feel so helpless again (my son was 5 and with me at the time, the young man held a gun to my head for $89.00) that's when I got my first concealed permit.

This story may or may not have been true, but the magazine National Rifleman give stories every issued of legal gun owners that have protected their homes and lives with their personal firearms.

The only way Granny could be faulted, is "her actions were pre-meditated"....the prosecutor would claim! Not an act of passion (after all she took time to make sure she didn't shoot 2 innocent victims...she waited to get the criminals). If I were Granny's defense attorney, I'd plead Hebrew Law....."the dirtbags didn't make it to the City of Refuge, so the family punished them!" Makes sense to me!

Minimus, I hate to admit it, but I also recognized the literary style as substantially similar to that found in the Weekly World News. This statement is not an admission that I've read such periodical while standing in line at the grocery store, but take it for what it's worth.

I read the Weekly World News more than Awake! It was written better.

    Minimus,

The Weekly World News is not only written better than the Awake, it's also devoid of the "sandman" effect so common to the Watchtower publications. I can actually stay awake while reading about diapers so large they last a week before needing changing, cages for kids, and of course, the fact that Elvis is still alive. Wait, that proves it, the Weekly World News has more "truth" than the Awake, despite the Watchtower's self-serving claims of veracity. There you have it!

How could I forget to mention the "Ed Anger" column? Literary genius!

I haven't seen such justice take place since I saw Sin City a few months ago and witnessed Bruce Willis rip off that guy's balls with his bare hands.
