Discipline and control are obvious cult tactics. Happy children ask questions, are bold and decisive, and these traits are not wanted in the b'Org. It works better for them to have parents beat their children into submission.

True, but don't they realize they have to somehow stem the tide of youth loss? It's not the old ones leaving and their are very few converts getting baptised, it's all JW kids.

I was always told it is because we are so close to the end, ie it is right around the corner, it is more important for everyone to be attentive at each meeting so as not to miss any of the necessary spiritual food if they are to survive armageddon. ha! such bunk! meanwhile our families are suffering...

The Borg's meetings sucked the life out of my childhood and made me into the cynical bastard that I am. It wasn't too bad, though, but being bored for 90% of the time must be prohibitve to one's intellectual development as a child.

that's what my mom used to say.....she always liked to brag that jdub children were naturally smarter and more well-behaved than wordly kids b/c of having to sit through 2 hours of spiritual food every other day.....

i always hated the meetings......never liked the damn things

Creating a special area and special arrangments for children would cost money. The WTS would prefer that money go toward printing literature and paying for COs and DOs new cars.

Maybe it's because they didn't have a family of their own. Back in the day children were meant to be seen and not heard.

But times change, the society knows this all to well, can I get a "NEW LIGHT"

    See I knew JW's lied!

We were better behaved due to having the s**t beat of us if we didn't sit down, shut up and pay attention.

exactly...they're not anymore smarter or wellbehaved....all they do is read answers quoted directly in the magazines and sit there scared too sh1tless to sneeze...so of course to the untrained eye they seem perfect.....poor kiddos
