Okay, so I do not believe in Jesus. Yet I do wonder about life on other planets and see that as much more likely. Why? Well there are species on this planet we have not yet found of insects, etc. Why then could it not be possible that in the whole universe, there is a million other species we never heard of. We are a tiny species, on a small sand pebble of a world in some far corner of space with millions of stars, that we can see, and millions of more stars we can not see. So why not? Seems more likely to me. What I have a hard time with, is whether or not to believe they have come to our planet or not. Maybe they spawned life here and rule in some unseen way. Maybe they are responsible for the legends of gods, or maybe they wonder if we exist as much as we wonder if they do, and do not have enough tech to get far enough to see us. I know I find things like SETI interesting, as it makes sense to listen for radio waves of alien life. I like movies like Independence Day and War of the Worlds, as I think we might want to rethink the excitement of meeting a species that is that much more advanced then us ... just ask the American Indians how they felt when those advanced Europeans showed up! Anyway, thinking about this, I have some fun questions.
1. How likely do you think it is that life exist away from this planet.
2. Do you believe they visit this world (the Greys, Roswell crash, Area 51, etc).
3. If they did make themselves known, what would the most important question be for you.
... just thought it would be an interesting topic with former Witnesses. Personally, for me the answer to number three would be, "do you believe in a higher being, aka god, and I would be interested to learn what they felt that beings name was?" Because after all, shouldn't it be Jehovah or Jesus? If not, the Bible has some explaining to do. I would laugh if they responded Zeus though.
