It's the desire to feel protected and secure through divine favour it happens a lot in religions but if such miracles were real then everybody would know about them.
Otherwise it's just a few marginal claims about faith healing with no documentation, when was it that 50 or even 10 terminal cancer victims got healed by faith.

Further in this 'experience', as I continued to speak with this woman, her partner caught on that I didn't believe her. He leant his support by relaying his own experience.
His stated that he did believe in faith healing because he was watching a faith healer on the television when he noticed that his three year old daughter had a 'little' nose bleed. He 'invoked' a healing from the television healer, and her nose bleed stopped!
I'm figuring that she just quit picking her nose...
So, am I hopeless to believe given the overwhelming evidence presented by this man?

As someone who uses Reiki, a form of spiritual healing, I'd like to say for the record that the pentecostal person who suggested she had diabetes and "cured" it was being unethical and outright pathetic by doing what he did.
All the practitioners I know would tell you to seek a medical doctor's advice FIRST and then supplement that with other healing if you want to.
