Claritin-D most assuredly will work. The 24 hour extended has the same dosage of loratadine (10 mg) as regular Claritin with an added decongestant, pseudoephedrine. This might save you buying a whole new box of this expensive stuff. I'd suggest a store brand..

Thanks, Kwin... It's probably been seven years since I've been out of the office long enough to get a sunburn.
I forgot how sensitive my skin is. When I was a teenager, I'd bake away in the sun at Lake Mendocino in my bikini and not care. People thought I was one of the local Pomo Indians... lol If only they knew I was as white as Wonder Bread.

I live in New Zealand, we grew up with sunburn, the treatment for it is burn cream, just like when you burn your hand on the grill and it blisters and red etc. Most burn creams contain pain killers and ease swelling. Otherwise very cold cold showers.We have to be careful here I have had two small lumps taken out and my sister has had 5 large on arms and legs and they went deep, taking muscle leaving large scars.
Prevention is easy. You don't have to wear expensive sun blocks. Loose fitting material is fine and here the Cancer Society supplies in bulk and free at large festivals
