I was asked this by my daughter, when we had our "discussions" about Watchtower lies "doctrine" a while back.

Well, tonight, I found the scripture. And it's in the NWT !!!..... QUOTE

Ecclesiastes 3:verse 3 ........."A time to KILL, and a time to heal".

verse 8........ "a time to love, and a time to hate. A time for WAR, and a time for peace".

So, how can they go about saying that it isn't in the Bible. Shouldn't they support it seeing it's in the Bible?

They claim all the other religions support it.

Just read the Old Testament. Jehover's followers killed hundreds of thousand of people in wars they provoked.

(Have you ever searched the bible to add up how many people Satan killed? So far I have come up with a big goose egg.)

The bible is full of warfare of jews against each other, against people who had land that they wanted, women that they wanted. The ot predicts that one day jews will rule the world from jerusalem, and any country that refuses to pay tax to jerusalem will not get any rain. Thats weather warfare. That is why jesus' disciples expected him to deliver the jews from the romans, and set up his own kingdom.

As well, the apocalypse is full of blood and guts.

To counter the argument that the OT military action was allowed b/c it was commanded by God and now it's not, check out those verses (forget where) were King David fought for the Philistines: being a secular soldier is OK.

They believe that when Christ came, the laws of the old testament didn`t count anymore. His coming revoked the old laws. So after Jesus, pacifism only. That`s why I don`t understand why they`re keeping the blood law. I guess it must be repeated in the NT (like homosexuality).

Common sense should tell us that if we do not wage war or at least be prepared to wage war we will be killed or be overrun and enslaved. Why maintain a police force if war is wrong or unscriptural? Police are simply a civilian military force for maintaining order as are judges and magistrates.

Our hope is a Kingdom ruled by Christ in which righteousness will prevail. But until them we have:

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. 6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.

Governments (good or bad) exists by God’s permission to maintain order upon this earth until this Kingdom replaces them. They are God’s ministers existing for this very purpose. So when a Government goes beyond this mandate another is empowered to punish them and restore such order once again. We call this War, but it is God’s way of providing a “revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.”

There is an obvious right to defend yourself if you are attacked, then you are left with no choice, how do you defend your relatives and family from an enemy especially a barbaric enemy.

As for the dubs believing that the law of Christ replaced the mosaic law they don't really seem to understand that since they rely heavily on the OT spirit and attitude especially with the works oriented salvation path they pursue, and the absolute refusal to call Christ Lord.

"We call this War, but it is God’s way of providing a “revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.”

I don`t think it`s that simple. In the matter of war between nations, executing "wrath upon him that doeth evil" means that innocent civilians, children, are going to be kill. Hitler was an evildoer, and destroying his regime was of course morally right, but in doing so, many, many civilians were killed. The firebombing of Dresden took the lives of 50 000 people, children burned alive by fire bombs. It`s not ok, and never will be. War is sometimes necessary, but it is evil, even if the motives are "just".

Read about the Israelites moving into the promised land. You think George Bush invaded Iraq immorally, he ain't got nuthin on Jah, who had the Israelites invade, rampage, kill women and children and conquer all the nations wherever he felt like.

The WTS is adamant that they are not pacifists. They say it is okay to wage war. It just depends on who is doing it.

    g97 5/8 p. 23 Should Christians Be Pacifists? ***

The last book of the Bible describes this conflict as "the war of the great day of God the Almighty," or Armageddon. (Revelation 16:14, 16) It says that Jesus Christ will take the lead in this, that he "carries on war in righteousness." (Revelation 19:11, 14, 15) Jesus Christ is rightly called the "Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6) But he is not a pacifist. He has already fought a war in heaven to clear it of all God’s rebellious enemies. (Revelation 12:7-9) Soon he will fight another war "to bring to ruin those ruining the earth." However, his followers on earth will take no part in that divine judgment.—Revelation 11:17, 18.

True Christians love peace. They stay completely neutral in the world’s military, political, and ethnic conflicts. But, strictly speaking, they are not pacifists. Why? Because they welcome God’s war that will finally enforce his will on earth—a war that will settle the great issue of universal sovereignty and rid the earth of all enemies of peace once and for all.—Jeremiah 25:31-33; Daniel 2:44; Matthew 6:9, 10.
