I once had someone who kept forwarding Southerner bashing crap. I wrote the person and told her that if she were sending out gay joke, black jokes or anti semitic jokes, everyone would have a cow.
I finally found a similar list to BEM's and sent it out to her forward list.
I work at a northern Cracker Barrel. The cooks haven't learned how to cook biscuits, corn bread or baby lima beans yet. I am the only person who works there who has a southern accent.
Good for you Flyin'high. I get all the negative feed back specially when I was living out west. When I first met the banker here he said I bet everyone says we're just ignorant hicks in Oklahoma, where you came from. My reply..."not in front of me"... My kids always called me a redneck now "they are one". ahh the joys of tormenting our children

Reminds me of a joke in the north of england (you can reverse the areas to fit your own situation):

The stereo type is that southerners are uneducated, ignorant, toothless, incestuous, prejudiced idiots. The truth is, you find people with those qualities all over the USA in varying amounts. And judging from travelers from abroad, America doesn't have a monopoly on that.
I actually have found more prejudice where I live now than in all the other places I've lived combined. Oh and I don't mean Slovakia.
