Does anyone see the comparison?

Let's hope the publishers will wake up en mass, soon and see the vanity of believing in and serving the WTS especially now that the end is no longer definitely near and round the corner as it was up to 1995. Not withstanding the severe control mechanism of shunning by family and friends.

I remember a time when no one gave a thought to all the early stuff the org. beleived in, and if you asked about it you were smoothly diverted to another subject all together. I am still sorting out what I've learned here and on other related links and can't believe what was right there under my nose for so long the whole time I was a dub.

The spiritistic stuff relating to the org,s one time belief in the great pyramid just blew me away. Especially with all the information out there about the Masons and other secret society groups with the exact same pyramidology and the One(? New) World Order concept. It's too spooky for words.

You are so right Franny about the evil that this organization does in the name of God. I saw it first hand and was a victim of slander as well as wrongful shunning.. This religion is ALL about power and all about power in the hands of pathetic, narrow-minded cretins with no training, no education and no spiritual credentials whatsoever who enjoy lording it over the rest. I was never very impressed with most of the people who took the lead in any KH I attended, and when I moved to the town I now live in I was shocked at the low characters of my so-called "brothers and sisters". Cruel and stupid were words that aptly described a great many of them. I had a sickening premonition that I had wandered into the" Twilight Zone" ............and one day I WAS starring in my very own episode!

I feel confident however that people are starting to wake up. They can only sweep so much dirt under their ratty carpets and right now they are standing on a volcano of shite that's fixin' to blow. I believe also that this false religion IS feeding off itself already...the constant rehash and harsh rules hammered home meeting after meeting while the good people amomg them quietly give up and steal away. Can't end too soon for me!!!!

My dad told me he knew something was wrong in Bethel during the Ray Franz era when they changed the title of the Kingdom Ministry to Our Kingdom Service and the Society softened up and allowed talking to shunned people. He didn't like the friendlier Society. He was happy when the mean approach returned and the Kingdom Ministry name returned.

If the Jehovah's Witness group had turned friendly and taught how to love rather just claim to show it, I think he'd have left and found another mean spirited group.

OMG, that's so sick, Gary! Where in the world could he have gone that was meaner?....oh....the Taliban...I forgot.

So, it's no wonder you left early on, dude!

Greendawn, that would be rather "Steppfordian-ly" fortunate, eh? One can only hope. I'm afraid that the WT-BATS has instilled so much fear in their publishers that it's gonna be a sneaky trickle, even though the leak in their "dike" is getting faster every day.....perhaps there will be one last great exodus when it finally expires.

They can only sweep so much dirt under their ratty carpets and right now they are standing on a volcano of shite that's fixin' to blow.

Zulukai, I agree with everything you said wholeheartedly....and you said it so WELL, cher. As for the quote I captioned from your post (above), that's why I sometimes refer to them as the Gov. Potty....and because of all that "toil-ette" paper they publish. Frannie

It is important that you make such a test. If you are not certain what your religion teaches, then, by all means, find out. Then examine its teachings in the light of God’s Word. See if these are supported by the Bible. If they are not, reject that religion. Locate the religion whose teachings are in harmony with the Bible. Yes, heed the Bible admonition: "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."—1 Thess. 5:21.

    EXAMINING THE FRUITAGE

The true religion can also be identified by the fruitage it bears. Jesus Christ explained that there is one outstanding feature by which it can be recognized, saying: "By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves." (John 13:35) Does your religion produce this fruitage of love? Does it inspire its people genuinely to love one another, regardless of the race or nationality to which they belong?—1 John 4:20.

    THE

    TRUE RELIGION

    ........

Are you familiar with the religion that fits this description? Is it your religion? If it is not, then it is vitally important that you search to find the true religion.

This will require some personal study on your part. But it is not difficult. God has provided his Word, the Bible, which outlines what is true religion. Study the Bible. Prove what is false and reject it. Prove what is true and hold it fast. After learning what God’s will is, do it. The apostle John revealed how important it is for you to do this, writing: "The world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever."—1 John 2:17.

    Watchtower 1968 - July 1 391-392

The WTBTS would deny this - but it was precisely by these criteria that I started my personal rejection of my religion, Jehovah's witnesses. I always like to point out these criteria, they are right on. And for applying that counsel I have been treated like a leper, as have thousands of others. And I do not think they wanted us to 'Study the Bible'

Garybuss - How sad that your dad was so enamored by the ruthlessness of the borg.

No, yer not, Jeff. You're right on target with a great example of just exactly what I'm talking about. They're combining some truisms with the penchant they have for deceit and hatred and being judgMENTAL and teaching both together....like from "two tables." They're only giving lip-service to commentary such as you c&p'd in your post. Thanks for sharing that.
