Or just that god created life on earth? I like to watch shows about UFO"S and aliens. I personally think they exist simply cause so many people have seen then all over the world and I know people who have seen them. But what does the wts teach? Its not in the bible so its not true? Or does it actually say that there are no other life forms except on earth? I cant believe god would create such a huge universe just for the hell of it! It also seems as if people from the military are coming out of the woodwork, and spilling their guts about the roswell case. Im just curious what others think. Do you believe or is it just BS?

    They used to imply it:

    *** Thy Kingdom Come (SIS vol III) 1891 (1903 edition) p. 327 ***

… Alcyone, the central one of the renowned Pleiadic stars… Alcyone, then, as far as science has been able to perceive, would seem to be 'the midnight throne' in which the whole system of gravitation has its seat, and from which the Almighty governs his universe…

    *** Reconciliation 1928 p.14 ***

The constellation of the seven stars forming the Pleides… It has been suggested, and with much weight, that one of the stars of that group is the dwelling-place of Jehovah… The constellation of the Pleiades is a small one compared with others… But the greatness in size of other stars or planets is small when compared with the Pleiades in importance, because the Pleiades is the place of the eternal throne of God…

Well the dub logic is, the bible doesn't mention it so they must not exist.

But on the flip side, the bible doesn't mention a monthly time report, a guberning body, 607, ect.... so like everything else, it's pick and choose with them.

It doesn't touch the subject at all apart from talking about angelic creatures that are in a diifferent dimension and have different bodies. Personally I don't think there are at this stage any other intelligent material worlds but can't exlude it 100%.

Again, they quote other writters but offer no opinion:

Frank Tipler, admit the following in their book The Anthropic Cosmological Principle: "There has developed a general consensus among evolutionists that the evolution of intelligent life, comparable in information-processing ability to that of Homo sapiens, is so improbable that it is unlikely to have occurred on any other planet in the entire visible universe." Our existence, these scientists conclude, is "an extremely fortuitous accident." http://www.watchtower.org/library/g/2000/10/8/article_03.htm

Strange that they make use of the word Evolution.

of course, all the writers of the bible had the earth centric view of the universe. that we're special. so of course they would think that earth is the only place with life, and that heaven is up in the atmosphere, just outside of their knowledge zone.

funny how the WTS always leaves that out of the equation when saying that bible writers were inspired scientifically, what with the "circle of the earth", and what not.

The bible just refers to life on earth. The bible talks about angels living in heaven and travelling to earth. We don't even know where or how far away heaven is. Maybe it's close, but in a different dimension.

Personally, I believe in God, and think that God always existed...alone, then he created Jesus, and then they created the heavens and earth and all living creatures in heaven (angels) and everything that lives on this planet.

If there was life on another planet, somewhere in the bible something would be different.

    My 2 cents worth

    The bible:

Does not say anything on life on other planets. (except when you view angels as extraterestrial life forms). There isn't any reason to make any conclusion (yes or no) when reading the bible.

    The WTS:

Says there are no aliens, because they reason: Jesus sacrifice and the question of souverenity shows the there are no other lifeforms as this is a universal question. This is however so full of holes that it is best to laught at it.

    My view (for who cares)

The lack of evidence of aliens (no contacts, no alien artifacts in whole history) shows that if there are other inhabited planets, the universe is not very densely populated with lifeforms.
Probably the speed of light is an absolute limit and that prohibits civilisations to colonialize lage portions of the universe.

If you are a sci-fi fan, Sci-Fi Channel will be re-running the series Firefly starting 7-22 (6/7pm) in which humans are the only intelligent lifeforms in the galaxy. A big screen movie is coming out around 9-30 called Serenity based on the same theme.

I actually asked an elder about this, he told me that just because life on other planets is not mentioned in the bible doesn't mean it doesn't exist, just that its not important to us at the moment.
