The Twilight Zone...any fans?

I am a huge fan of The Twilight Zone and I wondered if anyone on the board was a fan. Since the strangeness of the whole series mirrors my own JW life in some ways I found several episodes strangely fascinating. Interestingly my first experience watching it was in the reprised version of the series in the 80's and there was an episode where a shadowy figure lived under a kid's bed in return he would not hurt the owner until... and that's what I think made the series unique in how they added a twist that made every episode special, disturbing, or thought-provoking. Any favorites?

Are we talking to old Twilight Zones from the 60s, those are my favorites ,and the old Outer Limits are great.

Don't care to much for the new ones but they are alright.

I think the ones in the 60's are the best, the series from the 80's was where I was first introduced to it. "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" with William Shatner thinking there's a gremlin on the wing of the plane is possibly my favorite of the older episodes.

    Preston,

I've always been a fan of the old Twilight Zone. Ever see the episode of the one where the man finds the stop watch and realizes he can stop time with it? Totally freaky! It's my favorite. I love Outer Limits and am also a HUGE X-Files fan. We're slowly buying each season on DVD. We're watching season three and saving money for season four. Nice to see so many other people like those!

We have volumes 1-36 on DVD. Rocky has nick named our new little kitty Twilight Zone because she disappeared into the wall between the vanity and the bathtub the other night. We could hear her in the wall. She apparently has found the trap door where we access the plumbing for the shower. It was like she was in another dimension, much like the episode kls mentioned.

I love the episode where this bookwormish guy just wants time to read and be left alone. Then he is in a vault of some sort when the world ends in a bang - he is the only one left. Just him and his books. He sits down to read and his glasses fall and break [they are the coke bottle type], so he is unable to read now.

Or the one where a guy is hitching in the rain - and it keeps repeating with minor changes. We keep hearing this clicking above, finally the scene cuts to a man tearing pages out of a typewriter and tossing them as he rewrites and rewrites this guys life.

One episode I loved was where an old lady was terrified of a tiny space ship that turned out to be from the U.S.A!

I can't remember then name of the episode, but there was one where Robert Redford was masquerading as a copy, telling an old woman that she had to move out of her building because it was going to be demolished. It turned out he was Mr. Death. There were quite a few episodes that dealt with that subject...another episode where an old man was obsessed with keeping his grandfather clock ticking. He thought he would die if the clock stopped ticking.

AK-Jeff named my favorite episode of twilight zone; I would own the dvds; and I also loved Rod Serling's followup series Night Gallery!! I have my eyes on that dvd collection too.
