A nice 70 degrees works for me.

I just keep it at a cool setting, I dont pay attention to what setting really.

I'm too poor for that.
I just take a cool shower 10 times a day to refresh myself when it's too hot and humid, like today... 85F 80% humidity...

my utilities are all included with my set monthly rent so I let my landlord worry about the fluctuating electric bills

Right now because of the heat, I keep it at about 78* F and the AC struggles to keep the temp even at that. Sometimes when I am going to be gone all day I will set the AC to be over 80*.
One of the prices I pay for living in Texas in a South West facing apartment on the upper floor.
Last months electric bill: $155.00 for a 912 square foot apartment.

It's about 84F in here right now, that's as cool as the evap cooler can do today. Better than the 115F or so outside.
If I wanted to spend an extra $300/month in the summer, I'd use the two big air conditioners on the roof.
