If you still believe in God or go to church. Do you feel your baptisim as a JW is still valid or have you been baptized again.

I stopped going to meetings over a year ago and am working stuff out in my mind. I think I still believe in God and call him Jehovah when I pray, but i dont think ill ever go to church. I just wonder if it matters to you whether you are baptized in a cult or not or is it the thought that counts LOL

one time, I got pushed under the water by some old guys. I don't consider my baptism to be anything more than that......

Under English Law, a minor cannot be party to a contract - personally I would consider all these baptisms invalid. When JW are so pedantic about Bible examples (eg, Birthdays, and the fact that Jesus's birthday wasn't mentioned therefore it ISN'T important) - why is it that as Jesus's age at BAPTISM is mentioned and can they ignore it? It must be an IMPORTANT example as it was mentioned.

    good question Vitty..

man I have no clue.. I can't figure out the path to God even if I still believe. I mean we were so brainwashed why everyone was wrong. so I don't know who to trust.. let alone if you have to get rebaptized or not

Baptism is not a legal contract as the JWs propose, but a sacrament. It must be done with water (matter), "In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit" (form), and with the right intent (to forgive sins, and enter the baptized person into the communion of Saints).

Since both form and intent are lacking, the JW baptism is invalid.

Man can only baptize in water , it's jesus christ the baptizes with spirit . Like when John the baptist was baptizing people they were merely showing a repentant attitude , so that all those baptized by John had to be baptized again but in the name of father son and holy spirit . My problem with the J-dubs on this issue is that I feel women do not need baptism at all because they cannot preach the message of the kingdom before men and they are in subjection to their husbands and not to the christ as men are . Besides it just doesn't sound right that back in the first century women would be baptized naked in front of men . If they can be baptized then how come it's always men performing the baptism ? Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmm

I was baptized at 12 years old, when I was too young to know any better. I definitely don't feel it's valid because I renounced it when I DA'd myself. I have no love for Jehovah, and give him the one fingered salute whenever I feel it necessary.

If you were baptized before you became a dub as a catholic or a protestant I would think that would still be valid but the JW baptism is the wrong formula for the wrong purpose.

I was baptised into the spirit directed organisation of the WTBTS/JW cult.

When I became a Christian I was baptised in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
