Scooby, thanks for the pix. Greece is in our plans for two weeks in the summer of 2007. Next summer (2006) we hope to do London and some surrounding areas. I've been making notes of all of the areas mentioned on the board as my daughter and I would like to also check out Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Scotland and eventually New Zealand and Australia.

I went to Corfu a couple of years back, but it was full of scrub and rather tatty. We stayed in Paleokastritsa which was great but I wasn't impressed with the rest of the island.
How would you compare Kefalonia with Corfu?
Is this the same as the Cephalonia as featured in Captain Corelli's Mandolin?
