Who said it was a sign of progress to dump one's on-line community? Why do you have to stop posting in order to move on? How about us guys who have moved on who remain here in order to give a leg up to those who haven't? Englishman. Exactly e-man. And I have moved on to a degree - I now have attended my first apostafest and it was great. I would miss too many people on here. Really love it. Do what Little Toe does from time to time - take a whole month or more break from posting and visit us when you are rested. Just a suggestion
NO LONGER SATISFIED AS I WAS, WITH JWD FORUM

Outoftheorg, I began to feel somewhat the same way for a while, so I just slacked off on coming here, reading most of the posts and posting replies for a time. Then I was able to return (no one noticed I took a "time out"). Since then I've gone over in my mind the progress JWD forum and other xdub websites have made over the last 4 to 5 yrs. This forum in particular has a tremendous amount of concise articulate information that it is critical for wannabe faders and xdubs to have. And us old-timers are the only ones that know how to successfully ferret out this info and links to it for the newbies that are thirsting for these eye-openers.
Stick around, if only to give a hand up to someone else. There are occasionally threads you'll feel like responding to...if not, start your own.

Confession
I agree with most of the sentiments expressed. I've only been visiting this site for about 8 or 9 months (aside from the first couple of posts I made when I still believed it was "The Truth." I too can become tired of certain types of threads. But I see no reason to make a final decision about my participation here. If I get tired of it, I stop coming in for awhile--or coming in as much. After awhile I can return.

take my "time out"s, too, just like you, Frannie. Most times nobody notices. I know I've had my fill for a while when I find myself flicking from post to post trying to find something fresh and entertaining. It means the tea is cold and it's time to start a fresh pot.
I am at my best when a poster (apologist or newbie) inspires me to be creative. My proudest contribution lately was to a Minimus thread (which I almost never contribute to) about the double standards of the JW's.
Nothing wrong with your questions, Minimus, it's just that most are addressed to xJW's.

Not so, fb! You may not realize it, but you were conspicuous by your absence, and greatly missed by this poster. I always look for your posts.
Same for you jgnat. If I'm around, I miss your presence when you are not here, and make a point of reading your posts.
ooto,,, congrats on your progress. I find it ebbs and flows, too. If you don't feel like being on JWD at any given time, there's lots of really interesting stuff on the 'net. Do a little exploring, I've found it quite fun and informative, too. ;)
I'm very appreciative of those who stick around to help others, like Englishman. Thanks, all!

I'm not necessarily an old timer, but yes I feel the same, but then i remind myself i'm not entirely here for me anymore. I'm here to help other newcomers who haven't seen old topics
Like littleToe, Englishman, Stilla and others we came here, we went through stages of wonder, some anger, found relief and support, brotherhood, then recovered, slowly heard it all, had been there done that, got board, THEN WE
LEFT . . .
AND CAME BACK TO HELP OTHERS.
I have tried several volunteer organization and looked for ways to contribute to the community but once I got past my ill feelings about the JW experience I realized I can do more for people by supporting EXJWS. This is the area where we are experts.

I guess I'm a real addict. I still look forward to reading on the forum everyday. And I still can't seem to keep up. Yet, I'm always learning new stuff. I hope I never get tired of it. Thanks everybody for making my life less boring.

Agreed - "better to give than to receive"? Steve added this telling point:
This is the area where we are experts
Wise points worth remembering - especially when it's a dull day on JWD!
