Sonnyboy- I expected much more out of it as well--what with everybody telling me how great and funny it was. Ended up only thinking a couple scenes were kind of funny but not "haha" funny.

This is one of those movies that you either love, or you hate. I laughed my ass off each time I watched it; my bf thought it was stupid. My friend showed it to her family, and the same thing happened- half of them loved it, the other half just sat there.
Incidentally, I have a whole bunch of pictures of real live ligers that I took several years ago at a ren faire. Now I can't look at them without solemnly intoning "they're bred for their skills in magic."

I recommended this to a friend and he was with Sonnyboy on it--he HATED it. But several of us loved it. My grandkids, sons, and even me, granny, all howled at it.
And Kip "You're just jealous because I've been on line chatting with babes all day."
My grandsons were all repeating lines from it. Thanks for the chuckles at reading this thread.

This was the funniest movie I've seen in years. Original, fresh, clean and so nerdy... heheheh. I laughed the first time I saw it so hard that I was crying. The next 15 times were even better. I can never get sick of it. I actually knew people like this. Say, Insomniac, I like your bangs! The music really cracked me up. It sounded like that old funky Moog synthsesizer music from porn flicks. Too crazy.

My kids and several people at work loved it. My daughter made me sit down and watch it. She told me now mom your going to have to drop a hundred IQ points before you watch it, then you'll think it it funny. I tried to like it. I hated it and you'd have to tie me up to watch it again. I don't think I laughed I might of gotten a slight chuckle once or twice. Definitely a waste of a couple perfectly good hours.

I actually knew people like this.
I never knew anyone like Napoleon, but I saw a few in a used book store once. This was way before the movie came out. They were in the comic section and had those huge glasses on, greasy, matted up hair, and the highest highwaters I'd ever seen. I was shocked! They also seemed to be speaking in some sort of code as they frantically rummaged through the magazines.
Anyway, the dance scene was kind of amusing. Maybe I need to give it another chance (if I can sit through it again). This interactive flash is kind of fun to play with:

the glorious, shining moment of the whole movie was when the kids were in the schoolbus and witnessed the cattle execution. everything else SUCKED!
