Frannie - it is good that you are taking some time for yourself, no "pity party" as far as I am concerned You are a great lady

LyinEyes - Dede , I can empathise with this since I am an epileptic too. I feel so sorry for your poor neice. Your account of the driving experience was so scary, thank god you were there. I do hope that they can regularize her condition . Most of us are able to cope ok , and I even have my driving licence back now.

Love to you both - Blues

I know too well what it's like to be on that edge of having to giving up and having to face dealing with SSD. I know how tough a decision that can be.

Hang in there. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I can give you my experience and pass on exp. of others.

I finally after 2-1/2 years have my SSD hearing this coming Tuesday. I have FibroMyalgia - a chronic pain in the arse and everywhere else. I've been in fear, but I think I'm past that now.

    Hugs and much much love

Bren, you are such a sweetheart! What a long time you had to wait! It's definitely a tough decision to make. I've dreaded getting to this point, because I've applied before and they turned me down because I could sit up and french braid my hair. Never mind that I had all that trauma in my past, 8 compressed discs, one cracked and dry and arthritis in my spine. Now my knees are "going, going, gone," I hurt all over, my blood pressure is probably off the charts and my circulation is so bad that my legs and feet stay constantly looking like the Good Year blimp. Gosh yall, isn't this soooo exciting?

I plan to print out excerpts of my posts over the past more than 24 hrs, which just about tell my life story, and present those copies, along with the "3 Part Psychological Issues when leaving a Restrictive Cult" to a mental health case worker. I'll just ask her if she thinks I might have PTSD. A mental health case worker can "expedite" my case and get me qualified much sooner.

I'll certainly take you up on hearing about yours and others' experiences, Bren. I'm so sorry to hear you have fibromyalgia, darlin'!

    Megahugaroonies to ya!

Tal, thanks for saying that , and I was thinking the same thing about you as I have read many of your post tonite.......hugs to you sweetie.

Blues , I am glad to hear you have your driving back, that is what is killing my neice so much right now, losing her freedom. I will be getting back to you on how you got your liesence back. I try to keep positive things in front of her , because she was getting really down, not being able to get a job or even drive to find one. I know in time she will adapt , hopefully as well as you in time.

Frannie,,,,,,, I am in the Shreveport/Bossier City area in Louisiana. I used to live about 12 miles from the Arkansas state line, country as cornbread up that way.....lol. I love being back in the city, the malls, the entertainment, things don't close at 9pm everywhere lol.

That is so kewl, LE! Sometime when I can get up to the DFW area maybe we can plan a meet up. I'll just skip over the State line and we'll do it. Yanno? When I was in California the last year I was there, I got real homesick for SE Texas when they started playing that Maalox commercial with the Cajun music. I think it was Jolle Blanc (sp?) We're so infiltrated with Cajuns down here in SE Texas bein' 30 mi. from the State line. And I had a strict Cajun aunt that lived in Lake Charles that taught us to make a jamup Gumbo.

I get to teach my oldest g/daughter how to make a roux tomorrow. She wants to learn. We can do it while her Mom is working. She told me tonight that she just loves it when I come to visit Boy does that make my heart sing!

I look fwd to meeting you and your niece, (((Lyineyes))))

GOOD LUCK ON TRYING TO GET THE SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY. I UNDERSTAND IT CAN TAKE A YEAR OR MORE AND YOU WILL DEFINITELY BE TURNED DOWN THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES. WITH A LAWYER YOU MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE BUT DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH.

DIDN'T WANT TO DEPRESS YOU ANY FARTHER, BUT THEM APPEARS TO BE THE FACTS.

Frannie, you've never made a negative remark about anyone. Have you got a doctor's medical report about your disability? If you do, take it with you when you apply for disability. Take whatever supporting documents you have to confirm your condition.

Be patient and polite when you meet with these bureacrats because some of them think the money is coming out of their own pockets. I wish you the best, I have my hopes up for you. The best and take care.

Thanks, oas. But I was already turned down 9 yrs ago after a 4 yr wait and I HAD a lawyer. He was SO wimpy and useless. Then I found out that getting a mental health case worker on it would REALLY expedite the whole case. They have a LOT of suction in these cases. The least amount of time it will take is 6 mos to a yr with a mental health case worker on it. All I'll hafta do with the mental health case worker is show them printouts of my posts on the "Empathy for Pedaphiles" thread and ask 'em if they think I don't have PTSD. (Didn't realize when I posted those that they'd come in so handy) And of course, my daughter will be riding their butts the whole way.
