The best way to mourn the dead and to continue life for all is for yourself to continue living and help others live. Our depressing ourselves about occurrences that will not stop is counter-productive to our existence. Us Americans have been pumping our adrenaline to higher gas prices (People seriously think that the higher gas prices, which Europe has been having for a long time, is a clear sign that the end of the world is coming.) and the war in Iraq and it’s making us highly delusional. A delusional populace creates a delusional government. If we as a whole just sit down and learn and educate ourselves about what can and is happening then we, as a people will most likely excel rather than deteriorate.

Throughout history after a long season of delusional panicked society, the society either becomes filled with the spirit of advancement and liberalism, or plunge into a delusional conservatism that makes us hope for a time that never particularly happened. Part of this moral boost comes from us winning wars and overcoming projected evil. However, some people have set up a destructive way of doing things, we do not like the war we are fighting, so the chances of us going into the liberalism that i expressed above is slim. If we rekindle that spirit for advancement and furthering of our education then we can overcome tragedies like this better as a people. If we keep depressing ourselves, putting ourselves further into helplessness, we only spawn a government that acts on these sentiments from the people. We have more control over the government’s actions than many people like to think.

A delusional populace creates a delusional government. Repeating for emphasis eh.

Do any of you have any doubts about leaving Jehovah's Witnesses? How do you deal with these doubts? Do you feel this could be the end? Or, is this just another cycle in the grand scheme of things?

Relax, Jay. Be still for a bit and allow the wisdom of your heart to reveal a few things.

What sense is there in attributing any present day significance to an obsolete, savage and moronic tribal god? How far up ones rear does one need to force ones head to unquestionably accredit an infinite universe to a weak and tiny deity engraved in the image of man?

Why fear and worship such a repugnant thing? Can you think of anything more evil than the mass murder of men women and children? Would you be truly happy living under the heavy hand of such an evil? Or would it not be far more beautiful to be dead?

Stop diminishing the true Source of all universes to such an abhorrent idea; and that's all it is is an idea, a silly belief. Instead be present with the reality of the conscious livingness which all exists in and flows from your center right now.

The problem is not God, but rather your mind. Let this be the time of the end of ridiculous and harmful beliefs.

Jay, I don't think you're the only one. I drove around town briefly today and horns were blaring, people were cutting others off, illegally passing.... did a little grocery shopping too and everyone from the customers to the clerks to the managers all seemed pissed off.

I went through a similar "crisis" several years ago when I was still married to a JW woman, She had asked that I not be home one evening because she wanted to have some other dubs over and my presence would make everyone uncomfortable. That made me upset, then I started thinking, Nobody has anything to offer better than the Witnesses did.

I'm glad I got over that, and I'm glad to be alive and moderately well and not at age 33 in 1805, or 1905, or 1955. Marilyn Manson once astudedly pointed out that the American media is full of bad news and markets bad news so self-help books, pharmaceuticals, and all sorts of things are being sold because people are being conditioned to be afraid. Living in fear is a horrible thing and I hope you can right your ship. (Paxil, and now Lexapro does wonders for my inherent anxiety disorder, BTW.)

Unfortunately my friend I can predict with much greater accuracy than your father that he is about to join the ever lengthening line of end-times obsessives who blithely put their reputations on the line by stating that the world's end will come during a specified calendar year. 2005 indeed! I will think of him when I'm seeing in the next new year.

Get used to it: Your Dad's a false prophet. Write this out on the whiteboard 100 times, "My dad's a false prohpet" and then clean up all the litter in the school yard. That should cure your need to know things that no human can.

This exactly what I wanted to say but youve written it much better than I could.

I only knew God as the WT portrayed him, a vengeful, cruel and judgemental God. So ok they would write articles talking about his love and mercy but they are so clever the way they twist scripture.

I started reading the living bible because I found it easier to read, and I was AMAZED No wonder they dont want you to pay a lot of attention to Jesus. I learned such a lot.

Now when I have fears, about armageddon I just read something in the NT and I just know the WT are wrong, wrong, wrong
